You can also switch with filters to an empty Tab in order to swap items to the station more quickly, instead of finding the right pixel where release mouse button, when you have local filled up.

Having an AutoHotKey script that speeds up the drag/drop makes things super quick. I still don't think it's really worth the effort but it can help you clean out an outpost real quick.

Quick note: When you loot your own body, drop the flight the flight suit you are wearing when you get back to your corpse. Then, when you loot just equip the dead body flight suit and it will equip all the items on that corpse at once.

You can cut this time in half by throwing stuff directly into local storage from the loot boxes.. then hop in your ship and transfer it from local

Still haven't played the PTU, but looting in 3.16 kept my ammo, guns and armor always stocked up, so I didn't spend any money replacing stuff.

When looting armor, I just take advantage of local inventory. Loot the item to local inventory, then move it into your ship inventory. Yes, it is a hassle to do it that way, but less of a hassle than manually carrying each item individually.

Everytime I loot usually at wrecks SC bugs usually eat away some of my armour, weapons and backpacks so it is rarely profitable except you get items you can't buy. Best is doing the base defence tasks where you get paid and you can bring back weapons and armour worth more. So, mission plus loot around 20k

Have not made any money while looting. However surveying a moon for some time, it was nice dropping into a shelter to get much needed supplies!

dude you need to level up your Delphi security clearance for Microtech bunkers. You’ll be making 300k/hr doing bunkers at Tier 4 & 5 lol.

I have not been in 3.17 yet but thank you for taking us along on your loot-fest. It was very informative. My favorite aspect of looting will be finding enough gear and armor to take the sting out of loosing items upon death.

At the moment I’ve been looting the loot boxes and just leaving it in local inventory. There is just soo much stuff I have all over the place. And when 3.17 patch launches and everything gets moved to my main site where there will be a resell vendor. I’ll make so much money. Well that’s the idea. We will have to see if it works in practice

Eradicator, in outposts all you have to do is put loot in the local storage. And when you get inside your ship, access to local storage and move it into your ship storage

Haven’t done any looting in 3.17, so didn’t made any money. However, one thing I did do during IAE, was rented every ship and then stripped every component of all of the ones where normal rental restrictions weren’t applied. I was going for a long shot of maybe they won’t clear inventory before 3.17. They cleared it all out at a much later date. I’ll try it again once looting is in game and if it sticks to 50% cost that will be very profitable with large ships.

You can make a simple Voice Attack command to move from left to right and the other way and make that movement of items a breeze

By doing a few bunkers missions you make more money and also from looting weapons and selling them as well, that's how I started a few weeks back in the game.

I never play on the PTU, so I haven't been able to sell anything in 3.17, yet. But I'll definitely be following your advice to ignore the consumables and focus on the higher value items.

Next time, when you loot at outposts, transfer everything into LOCAL, then go into the ship and transfer from LOCAL TO VEHICLE. Even if you cant fit all of it, you still keep the loot.

save time by looting to your local at the landing sites from boxes set your filter to other that way you get no interference with placing of items in the inventory. when at stations do the exact same from ship to station.

I have been looting yesterday and everything rubberbanded back into the loot boxes (in bunkers). It was impossible, but in the PTU, one day + one patch can make a difference. I always like looting the 890j mission with my Avenger, because it fits easily in the hangar. I once loaded it up with its inventory full and I had 52 boxes with armor stashed in the cargo. It was silly fun, but when I unloaded it, I had to pick up every single box again and drag it into Bajini Points inventory. Something like this would be virtually impossible right now. I have a lot of issues with inventory and desync now.

Well I did not take looting as far as you did, I only tested it a bit and made about 3k or 4k with some small stuff. Then I went on testing other stuff. That's just the beginning, hopefully we'll have better things to loot in the future! I can only tip my hat to your dedication to loot an entire outpost and try to make the most of it, that took a WHILE. Next time you can buy a couple or containers in the cargo area, take them with you in the oupost and fill them with the loot. Then you only have to move the containers from the ships' inventory to the landing zone's inventory, which is wayyyyy faster :)

You can also set the filter to a category you don't have lots of stuff for to keep drag drop area empty for easy transfers :)

You can just double click the undersuit in the loot inventory to automatically equip the entire loadout from a corpse, as long as you are only wearing an undersuit, with no helmet or any other armor on you. I've even done a loadout swap in space, by dropping my helmet and double clicking the undersuit quickly.

I should add: If it's your own body this works without removing your temporary undersuit, because you actually have permission to equip things to your corpse, so you swap undersuits with the body. If it's not your body, you need to remove your temp suit before equipping theirs.

I see CIG nerfing the sale prices of items by a large percentage. Either that or loot will be a lot more scarce. Maybe the rare items will be worth decent amount, but the common stuff is going to be worth, if I had to guess, 10% to 20%. I don't think they'll be able to allow the resale price to be 50% to 90%. They can't let you make 20k in loot during a 4k mission.

I just see it as an option for making some cash if you're looking for a chilled-out, no stress play session. Inventory is obnoxious right now though; I personally find it too time consuming and frustrating moving piles of loot between boxes to personal/local inventory to vehicle inventory and then to station inventory just to sell. That being said, I still appreciate it as an option and I am sure the overall inventory transfer process will get streamlined in time.

For players doing Box missions, looting the crates is probably more profitable than the Box mission you are running. 😆 For me I just do a Box mission for 'fun', and finding a couple guns or a helmet is just a nice bonus.

The inventory system would be so much better if they just allowed item stacking for things other than candy bars and weapon magazines. For the food items one could just let them stack if they're 100% and then if you grab one to eat remove 1 from the stack.

I've made around 10k aUEC from looting each outpost, only having taken high value items. I haven't found any weapons at the outposts, but I have found some Subscriber armor too, so that was nice.

You can just transfer all of the looted items to the Local inventory, then transfer them from Local to your ship.

When PU 3.17 comes, there will definitely be attempts at how much you can earn by looting. Yesterday I reached 100% of the warehouse at the starting location at 3.16, so there will definitely be something for sale at 3.17. But I use looting mainly so that I don't have to buy armor and weapons.

You can heal yourself with the med gun in an armastice zone. Not sure about the multitool never used it really best to have dedicated med gun or pens.

Due to alot of work, I was not able to play the PTU more than just a few moments. I have not yet tried to loot anything. This will change though in the future. But 28k is not bad, if you have no other option. Not really good for grinding for ships though . And that we can not sell the subscriber items is a bummer. I wanted to sell such things on my BMM. We cannot have everything, I guess. Have a nice day.

Body... you do not need to put your loot in our inventory ( and make several trip to your ship)...... put in in LOCAL! then when your are in your ship, transfer it from LOCAL to SHIP!!! :)

everytime I do a bunker mission I use a tractor beam to shovel dead enemies directly into my ship. I then fly to everus and loot the bodies directly into the local inventory. saves a lot to time because I'm not loading gear into my ship, just dead people. so I only have to transfer loot once.

@@N1ghtR1der666 I do about 5 trips a day. and making dead bodies is a simple matter of just killing enemies with whatever weapon you want. I prefer the use the rifle that the enemy drop. why spend your money when you can kill them for free? they use a 4x scope so you can sit safely behind cover with the rifle and just shoot them from too far away for them to fight back.

@@N1ghtR1der666 ok. just one. you grab bodies and load as many as you want on the elevator. then I ride the elevator up and from there, load directly into ship. I fly back to everus but I dont dock. I just get close enough to access local inventory. if you land, you could run out of time and they will store your ship before you can finish. I usually only grab around 6 bodies because sometimes you run out of time inside the bunker and security sees you as an Intruder and blows up your ship. you got about 10 minutes to loot and leave.

You can save a little bit of time by stacking multiples of the same item before you transfer but it's still a very painful process

To be honest, making 28k at the first hour of gameplay is not bad at all, if Illegal Monitor mission is not available, etc. I tend to cherrypick when looting to save on time.

Looting bunkers is now the best way to start for a noob in Star citizen. Get your meds, multi tool, food, armor, and guns without paying s dime.

Looting is its own reward. Profit is not always necessary, as long as acquisition is made.

With an andromeda i can have roam around doing VHRT bounties and exploring for weeks at a time without exploding. I usually log out in the bed, and can stop every now and then to refuel/repair/restock as needed. The only times i really explode is if i make a pilot mistake when heading to bounty locations and its too dark to see how close to the ground i was haha..

The inventory system doesn't work well with lots of items right now, and being unable to sell items without moving them to local or personal inventory first makes it even worse, and on top of that the fact that you have to sell items one by one just makes it not worthwhile at all.
