Ahh.. More Tevarin ships please. It's especially cool if the viewports are turned off and you enable the ships, so stylish. I don't think the Talon needs way larger quantum fuel tanks as you can call them even on bases like mining facilities where you can also call ships like the Pisces, but some more hydrogen fuel or -efficiency would have been nice.

Long time Shrike pilot here! The Talons both play quiet different than most of the ships in their class but they have a lot of strengths you can play off of, and I love that about'em. Now they just need to give us a Tevarin light carrier to make up for that lack QT fuel 😁

I mainly love the one way windows/windshields, it makes it look even more like it's an autonomous machine flying on its own. I'm excited to see more of the Alien ships, my favorite for now is the Syulen because it feels "alive"

The Tevarin style is such a great concept for ships. I hope we will eventually see other, more purposeful ships from this race that are not as fragile and have more uses than the Talons and Prowler.

This ship bring back memory. The first dream ship i ever had is this beauty. I am very broke when i first play the game but after a fellow player learn about how much i love this ship on the first time, he gave me the money to buy one. I love the Shrike when the missile targeting is working. Since I have to refuel and re-arm missiles so often anyway, I just go ballistic guns as well. For PvE, the selected mission payout needs to be enough to compensate for the missile expenditures.

With stealth components you can drop detection range to below 2Km, meaning you can hit targets before they know you're there. I have this ship and I was really surprised by how maneuverable it was, and now being able to drop noise and get out of danger and off radar, makes it a great stealth fighter

Someone on YT got it to 1.4k. One cooler, no shield, no life support and ballistics.

@haydenbsiegel if you turn down the power to weapons, engine and shields, you can drop it to 1Km or less I think. The sizes 4s have a range of 3.3Km. So tbh, you have a huge buffer between maximum range and detection

​@@danlewis2999 yeah it gets super stealthy. I switched from a Talon to a Fury just because it fits my 600i but it is a great ship. Almost as good as the San'tok.yai for combat. Really it is a toss up between the two. The Talon can survive longer but the San'tok.yai can just dodge anything tossed at it.

@haydenbsiegel you can fit the Talon, Sabre firebird and a Fury in the top hangar of the Polaris all at once lol! And yeah, i used to take my Fury out in the 600i too. Can't wait for the rework. With the engineering changes now there's no reason to take it out above the Aquila sadly

Honestly, this ship grows on you! I have it and wasn't a fan at first, but she is so nice to fly and can hit quite hard. You just have to be mindful of how fragile it is. My other alien ship is the Banu Defender. It has a beautiful interior, great animations, and some potential. Unfortunately, it's long range has been nerfed, so I think it'll probably become a "fat" fury when it releases. Great review by the way! Enjoyed the shots, info, and combat.

Have to play the Shrike like a Sabre Firebird. Fill it with Stealth modules, soften target with missiles and jump fast wth cannons/repeaters for a finish off.

Seems like the Shrike is the way to go, if the server is right. I think I'd much rather have those missiles for fast dive strikes. It's very on theme with the ship too!

i recomend the prowler over this and also the glaive goes well too both these ships have 2x S5 guns and are agile but not fragile in the way the talon is so you can loose wing bits and things without being disabled

Quick note: With stealth components and shields turned off, you can drop the Shrike's signature down to 1.8km. With stock components, it can drop to 2.1km. There's really no reaason why that Gladius should have seen you in the first place. Either way, unlike many alien ships, the price point on the two Shrikes is quite stellar for what you get.

I honestly want more ships that have a better pitch than yaw. In most cases it just makes more sense as most ships have more thrusters facing bottom or top than the side. Or at least they should have because there is generaly more area to place them. I didn't look were CIG actualy placed those thrusters. But it would give an incentive to use your roll to keep your crosshair above the enemy.

These things look awesome, like them a lot more from a style standpoint than the other alien ships. I'm not a fan of the all red cockpit/HUD in some of the alien ships at all. Not something I'd fly but really cool.

My personal favorite fighter in the game in spite of being outclassed by most human ships. Wearing the Aves Tevarin armor is a must for me before I climb into the seat. Speaking of which, I think they need to increase the speed of the pilot seat coming out and in to the ship. It's far too slow right now, especially during a crisis when you need to get in the air or off the bird fast.

These are the ships that bring the phrase with high risk comes high rewards. One little mistake and your out of the fight or your spinning like a top. But when you can dive in and get behind and just hammer them its all worth it.

Seems like the Arresters are the issue. CS is one of the lowest signatures on most smaller ships, forcing you often to dance close to min-locking distance. Only way to circumvent that is striking top/bottom or side silhouette.

My wife had this ship for a short while because it's pretty lol but went back to syulen because of art style and you know, being purple. Everything about the base talon I love except for the fuel that really sucks, gotta have a larger ship to carry it

Bird ppl: We have futuristic virtual cockpits, stealth tech, and air shields. UEE conquers them: Hur dur we have transparent metal and decompression! Virtual cockpits and air shields should be standard, imo.

I have never lost a wing in a Talon. What are you doing flying into the fire? Edit: Saw the issue, fly decoupled and use the boots to put you on course instead of flying coupled. You'll be able to stay behind everything but the Khar-Al and San'tok.yai.

I do enjoy the design of the Talons, but always heard horror stories about so much as scratching the paint on them. Looks like it's not entirely wrong either, which is unfortunate. Still, I'd love to see more ships like this, I would spell the name of the alien race that designed them but there is no way I'm going to try to spell it properly lol. I very much wonder what their capital ships (if any) look like. For whatever reason I'm picturing Romulan Warbirds lol.

The Talon is the definition of glass canon. It does good Dmg, but the second you break a wing you are done for, which happens a lot.

The Sabre Firebird is faster and stealthier with the same missile loadout but bigger guns when compared to the Shrike so the Firebird seem the one to go for ? Edit: Except will the Firebird fit on a Liberator i wonder?

Yes as your health pool is spread horribly over all the little wing areas on the Talon, its much easier to lose overall flight control when damaged in the Talon.

PRO TIP: if you loose a wing in the talon, hit K to enter VTOL mode, you will regain control however your top speed will be limited. It will give you enough control and speed back to end a fight and return to base
