@@BigBobBlazer Nah man, most of the devs are doing server meshing and SQ42. SQ42 is finishing up. and Server Meshing is getting there. After launch, is very likelly they can put up one major star system per yar, plus some smaller ones. Like Nyx is very small, so they could build a big system like Terra, along with it. Some games do that. Like ESO which will give you a big chapter with a big map and lots of new features, and some smaller maps or dungeons to keep out the drought.

The narrative team are very happy about 100 systems because they don't have to physically make them.

@@BigBobBlazer entirely possible. Just assume 70% being minor systems with not much going on for ressource gathering, exploration gameplay and what not. Those can be made with mainly procedural generation and very little handcrafting for some diversity. The rest being major and middleground systems, which may involve much more handcrafting but can still utilize many systems they´ve developed over the years to make that easier.

That costuming for Darkness is absolutely legendary (pun intended). The costumers and director of photography really knocked it out of the park. Even rewatching it you can see how well Darkness still holds up and absolutely puts modern day CGI to shame.

This conversation at ~41:00 is interesting, because Deus Ex Human Revolution WAS blueprinted start to finish with literally no flexability. So much so the bossfights were completely forgotten about in planning and they made arguably the worst bossfights (for a game of its type) ever. Eidos literally either wrote down manually, or printed everything off and stuck it to the walls.

I should watch this more. Maybe recently it has just been fluff with meeting the developers but I find it passively fun. My suggestion if it hasn't already been done would be to also do a series of episodes which interviews content creators around the verse. You know bring in the people who make KZbin videos and stuff about StarCitizen. And do both these things once a month every year or something because as they said time is a forward path. People come and go on projects or while playing. Heck, maybe they could even randomly select a player to interview episode with every year. Ask them what they enjoy, what they want to see, who they character is ie how do they see themselves within the verse. I bet that would make some random person feel so much more involved and special. Silly as it may be but it is cool to meet the community.

They did have a show years ago called 'Citizens of the 'Verse" but it only lasted a few shows. Also back then they were doing 5 shows a week, a couple of them would run a hour or more, it was just so much work and effort for little gain.

I actually like that they do this sort of thing and I'm glad they have enough pride in their staff that they want to give them some time in the sun; but, SCL should be about answering questions about development, demonstrating progress in a way that ISC can't, and even occasionally holding feet to the fire. This sort of thing should be saved for a documentary. I would absolutely watch a multi-part documentary of the development of the game over the years AFTER the game has been finished/released.

Here is your immediate feedback: You do good show, this episode exempted, you have the wrong content. Good combat content has hinged on sound occlusion and effects for a mortal age and your combat team never cares. Their efforts don't matter until then. Everything else has been bloody neglected, even this episode didn't focus on how Edutainment makes good SCIENCE fiction. You just... report on what is being done for us, and it misses an opportunity steer development. You just tell us what (dubious) decision CR has made. CR is fired. Dude is a decade late and a buck short. Start driving this mission Jared. Its yours, take it.
