Good video as usual ! A tip for scanning : the scanning reticule that aligns with your character's view is a lie, you need to keep the main crosshair (nose of your ship) on the target to be able to scan it. I do solo ERT's in an M2 since they removed the hurricanes from the enemy pool, you don't need a ship that can turn fast. I put double AD5B's as my weapons and it shreds everything. Double S3 shields tanks enough and you get to loot :)

love the ion. its my fav fighter atm. especially with the meridian paint. i always duo with 1 or more friends to get all the cargo from ERTs. i rly like this gameloop. found a ship with 180~ SCU of eggs the last time. was rly tasty xD

very very cool and informative video, exactly what i was looking for, i had a inferno, which i upgraded, because of the bad hitrate of the gatling, now, after it got buffed, i was asking myself if i should buy it again or if i should try the ion, now i know, its gonna be the ION :)

@soulenceve1l143, Glad you liked the video. Keep in mind that as the flight model changes so do the abilities of the ship. Mast Modes are just around the corner and will have an impact on how ships fly in ways we don't even think of.

Great video man, but would you recommend the Ion over the Inferno? I don't mind re arming every so often but efficiency wise what do you prefer?

@labuse718, Did a run last night in 3.22 and it looks like they may have lowered the spawn rate of the higher-end cargo loot as out of four ERT's I did not get any eggs but still had over a million in cargo at the end of the night.

I like the Ion and Inferno both. And I do own both lol. But it will be a LONG time before my skill level reaches the point I can think about targeting a VHRT or ERT.

Ares ion is definitely capable of doing erts, i even complete a critical threat beacon in this ship. The only downside is it don't have cargo space...

What you use is 'lead pip' aiming solution. It will tell you where to aim to get hits, it is an easy way for new users to get their aim trained but you can't control where exactly you are aiming on the ship. In lag pip aiming, the pip will show where the shots will land, that helps you target components like engines, coolers, and turrets.

Forget the ion the inferno is way better i had tested the two ion is def way slower. Refunded the ion, plus inferno u can put 70 sheids and 30 engine or 50/50 or etc. Also had some trouble soft deathing ships in the ion. Never a problem with my inferno. I thought the ion was better when i had it untill i tred the inferno i never used. Ion has its perks though if your going to run 10 to 20 ert you wont have to re-arm. The gatling gun on the inferno looks so much better all thos sparks.

whats up with putting all of your power into weapons in a dog fight? i thought having more balance into shields would be more beneficial, is it just because you know you wont get hit or is that meta

@daultonpownall9370, You set the weapon power to full when you are shooting a target as it will give you more shots. As your shields do not recharge when they are hit there is no point in having power to shields while engaged with a target. After you have fired all of your rounds and the weapon capacitor is drained your weapons will charge up faster so you can shoot again. If needed you can put some distance between you and the target using boots and then put all power to shields to get your shields back up to full faster.

The constellation taurus is good, has good fire power and cargo space, the handling isnt too good though

@Numaru5, Great question!!!!!! As stated by @SharockoRAZR the Constellation is very good for this task. A Corsair will work, and M2 or A2 will work as long as you don't get any fighters in the ERT group. You can also use a C1 for HRT and VHRT missions as they will also have cargo, just not as much.

You seem to be a really good dogfighter. I can't fly in a corkscrew pattern. All I can do is maybe some basic strafing and pitching. I also wonder what org your in?

@@Spaceshotx7 Nope, we are a small group of people who also play other games not just SC. When we are playing SC we just do what we feel like doing at the time. Sometimes it is legal and sometimes it is illegal gameplay. Pirating is not griefing, we don't just blow stuff up or kill other players for the fun of it. We are split between PvE and PvP play 70/30. Correct the Ion does not have cargo, you need a buddy to loot any ships that still have cargo after you take them out. The video is to show the Ion can run ERT's w/o any issues.

SC is in development and has been in a state of flux for the past 10 years, shit has changed, is changing, and will change before it is a fully completed game. If you don't like that fact then go play a fully released game that has no bugs, great features, and fully implemented mechanics that work flawlessly... Oh wait it does not exist!
