The pelican is 36.5 meters and the valkyrie is around 40 meters. So i don't see what you're saying about it being an oversized pelican. But i see what you mean about the avatar gunship.

Agreed. Not sure how a ship that can magnetize a couple ursa rovers, or whatever fits in this thing, but cannot magnetize any cargo boxes. What if I want 1 Ursa and some resupply ammo/med boxes for a long duration drop into a hot LZ?

I would have kept it if just any one of the following were true: 1) Fit on a Javelin, Idris, or Polaris 2) Could hold some cargo (any) 3) Seal off the crew area (I know it's for atmos drops, but it's still a "spaceship") Other than that I love the ship. I wish it had just one of the above. : (

Reviews: Maybe if possible, it would be good to bring a second smaller vehicle in the bigger ships to blow up when testing turrets and bay door guns. Drive it outside, park it a little distance away and make it flight ready (shields on). Then blast it with the stock weapons or the review ship. I know I would enjoy watching/reviewing the power of the ships guns. Good review as always. Thanks

This looks like a more futuristic version of the marine drop ship from Aliens

I can already see a variant of this ship. Chuck out the door guns and the remote side turrets, remove the blast shield and give it a cargo floor in the back, change the bottom turret to a tractor beam controller, remove the left side bunk by the bathroom for dedicated crew lockers, give the side doors proper stairs for boarding/departing, squish the lockers down to make room for more, and limit quantum to only a couple short range jumps. Now you've got yourself an industrial vehicle that can transport a sizable amount of cargo and/or smaller vehicles, as well as a large amount of civilian personnel, short ranges from around a planet's surface, surface-to-station, and it would be perfect for military logistics, able to move men and materials all at once.

Sitting higher is not the problem with the Anvil Valkyrie. The view forward is perfectly fine. The view up is amazing. The Valkyrie is absolutely unparalleled as Star Citizen's premier Take-Off Ship.

It's a great ship, I own two. However, it does not need beds. This is a mission oriented ship for short range use and beds are wasted space that might be used for stealth tech, missiles, bombs, science tech, survival gear and so on.

Aside from being used as a crash barrier for vehicles, that pop-up panel in the floor of the cargo area is just the right height to crouch behind and shoot from cover.

I think the deployable machine gun by the doors doesn't go into the middle because infantry would need to be able to get in while under fire or being chased. So the machine gun is there to give them covering fire while they jump up.

This is perfect for a large scale hot drop right into the thick of things. 3 of these fully loaded with troops and enough crew to operate all the suppressing weapons and you could take pretty much anything.

6:40 To me, that looks like great cover to shoot from behind. Just swoop down and have the pilot open the rear hatch, and crew in position behind the popup shield with rifle(s) pointed at whatever is waiting behind the door.

great drop ship, Other than the fact that as soon as you open any door the entire ship is exposed to atmosphere, or the lack thereof, including the living area; sleep in your armor and helmet crews!! if the viewing gallery and ladder were sealed off it could be made space-tight, but then how do you get to the troop deployment deck from the flight/living deck?

It's a drop ship not an exploration ship, it's designed to sit in a pressurized carrier ship and deliver marines to a battlefield when needed not explore the farthest reaches of space.

I really enjoy this ship and glad to get a new video from you, TA! It feels like flying my Terrapin, really captures a unifying Anvil style and can only assume the Carrack will feature similar cues. Appreciate the little touches like having oxygen supplies like a modern day airliner at each bed station, inside the troop seating area, the bathroom, etc since the Valkyrie does not have a sealed off area throughout most of the ship. I can grasp the "Huey helicopter" view of not seeing much of the ground, protects the pilot I suppose from ground fire - maybe get extra visual input from the wing gunners or ventral turret. Nice ship overall and makes me wonder, as it is the same manufacturer, if a Pisces will fit inside.

They could raise the seat height enough to where your hands aren't fully visible, but all the displays still are. This would give a much better forward view, which looks to be needed.

I fly this ship every time I log into the game, I love it!!! I sure wish CIG would fucking add the headlights to it...and the Hawk...grrr, I mean they just patched in the freelancer max headlights but still no Val lights. We're in the pipe 5 by 5" hahaha everytime I jump in the seat.

This is literally my favorite ship in the game as of the moment, but it saddens me that I can't justify buying it due to how bottlenecked this ship is towards one role. For me it was between this and a Carrack, same price range, about the same crew requirement, both military-grade everything. Difference being while the carrack is a dedicated explorer, it can still provide support in a very large variety of different roles. This ship has a place in my heart, but not a space in my hangar due to 0 cargo capacity, and I feel like there's missed opportunity for small amounts of medical gameplay.

This ship does has nice localized ground suppression firepower but it still needs an escort from the likes of a Redeemer gunship. Fighter escort help form an extended defensive screen for a force of Valkyries. Can't wait for server meshing to be introduced so you could have hundreds of players in a tight space doing different things between two large forces.

Be cool if that light can go from Red/Green to signal a ready state for deployment. Similar to the lights in an aircraft that signal Airborne units to deploy/jump.

I like the ship. No. I love the ship for everything it is. It does have some things that make me wonder what the developers were thinking though. For instance, it's a drop ship. Why does it have beds and a shower? I understand the toilet. 20 killers armed to the teeth on high protein diets. Definitely need a toilet. But a shower? You can drop 20 marines in the thick jungle, for a month, and pick them up. Not one of them will care how they smell. Nor is one shower going to cut it if they did. Also they are in space suits.. like that shit up with some charcoal and B.O. doesnt exist. This isn't a long hauler the way i see it. This ship sends a distinct message. "Nice base/outpost you have there, would be a shame if something happened to it" 20 people with 3 beds isn't going to cut it either. Beds are for respawns? Ok.. Game mechanics exist for a reason, and Ill suspend my disbelief. Then it shouldn't it have some sort of medical triage type design implemented. Like a surgical table and 2 beds makes more sense. But not just that, its a drop ship.. in space.. Where planets and moons can have hazardous atmospheres or no atmosphere.. But it has a balcony section overlooking the vehicle bay that exposes the OUTSIDE to the crew. Gunners on controlling the wings, the people dying the beds (not going to be wearing space suits by the way), the gunner in the top turret is exposed to the air or lack thereof. Only the pilot and bottom gunner are protected as long as no one opens the door (#hopetherearen'tanytrollsinavideogame). At the very least there should be some glass or a shield or something that protects the ships operating crew from the outside.

The living area is for the crew of the ship only not the 20 marines and the in universe use of the ship will be on carriers where when on on missions the crew of the Valkyrie would just live on the ship.

If the cockpit would've been reversed, it would make more sense to me since it's a dropship so you kind of need to know where you drop people off right? So you need to know what's going on on the ground more than you need to know what's going on above you (hopefully a friendly escort).

i can see them making a cargo version of this. lose the gun mounts and the remote turrets, convert the troop seating into more cargo space. thats how i would do it. but also, i really hope you can get missions from mercenary groups or something asking you to pick up troops and vehicles and deliver them to a specific place. just be space uber for millitary folk, thats a job id like to do

Thought the same thing. Plus the 20 Marines are protected with heavy Blast Doors, but you can just climb up the Ladder to the Gunners and the Captain? Seems to me like the Ladder should be by the bottom turrent access. Not where it is right now.

Now this thing would convert to a nice Yacht ship! unlike the Constellation which turned out weird. The symmetrical layout with multi floor separation would make for a cool Home situation! Also its pretty stupid CIG hasn't built in a simple "climb" feature for on foot motion. Maybe its to stop people from accessing area's that don't want us....

It’s my favourite looking ship in the game right now. I would of gone on to say it’s a cutlas black on steroids. But as other people have said it has a few too many quirks ⚠️ 1) No cargo mag plates for cargo boxes 📦 WTF? 2) Landing / ground view for landing a little too restricted 🚭 3) No Door to seal the air into the pilot/ living area. ☠️ The Cutlas Black only really suffered with the 2nd issue and is a little smaller so it does not effect it as much. ✅ I own one because I just love 💕 it’s looks. But right now it’s just a people carrier that can be landed in your outpost and used as a base defence vehicle. Strapping two of these to the top of a Kraken 🦑might be interesting if you can’t get the Hammerhead to fit! Guns galore 🔫.

Love this ship. So sad I sold mine to upgrade to a carrack. It’s limited cargo and fact it is limited more for planetside gameplay was the deciding factor for me in the end. Plus I have an M2 so it was a little arbitrary for me. Great ship though. The shield also may double as a defence wall to take cover behind for FPS fights while opening the back door for a landing party. The side door works better when vaulting is working. It is not perfect just yet, works better on a landing pad.

I really like the Valkyrie. I will not purchase one until I can in game. I know animations are pure pron for any SC fan, but the ridiculous amount of folding and stuff in seats is getting ridiculous. There is no reason to fold the flightstick out of the way before the pilot gets in the seat. There is no reason to fold down the info panel for the remote turrets. And not sure why we are teleported to FPS view on the turret camera. Put a large TV screen on the wall in front of the seat. Give the seat a joystick and keep the FPS view looking at that TV screen on the wall. This would be sim/realistic and what I thought SC was about. Any secondary displays, for information, can fold out of the arm of the remote turret seat armrest. Then we can just hold the interact button and not lose complete situational awareness being pulled out of the camera view back to the interior. The carnival ride over head thing is just weird. Those are my 2 gripes about this otherwise beautifully brutish ship.

It would be so much more beneficial for everyone, both CIG and SC players if CIG could provide a open source solution for SC players to design Ships by them selves for evaluation and then retail. Evaluation for example, ships based on movies or overpowered ships as well as flying carrots will not pass evaluation. Then all CIG has to concern on is that the animation moduls such as doors cabinets or landing gear works right. The rest of the design is free for the designer of the ship restricted only to ship perks given by CIG (that you probably have to earn). Players from all over the world would create ingenious designs of which then the companies such as Agis, Anvil etc.. will evalutate from the space sex pupet-gundam wing starchips and acnowlege for retail within SC. Food for thought. CIG can do the same for planets, flora, animals and even Citys.

Ps. I would like to have a ship like the milenium falcon. Of course not the exact same design but a very modifyable mid cargo ship. With high flexibility manuverability and speed, depending on the value of effort and money you spend on the modiffications. I hate the fact that players would see a Valkyrie and then not mess with it but would however directly attack a minor class ship without the possibillity of a surprise underdog. Thats what made the Millenium Flacon so epic. Its an old garbage can of a frighter with surprisingly high manuverability, speed, and firepower. Plus dont forget that it was also met to be a smugglers ship.

She is a beautiful drop ship, very much the life I would live in that universe. The only criticism I have is the cockpit is at least one seat short. There is a need for a ship commander who coordinates all of the activity for an insertion. The pilot has a lot to handle already and the other stations are all gunners. Someone needs to handle operational protocol: communicating with the mission command, ordering deployment of troops and vehicles, making sure they are in the right place relative to the objective and other assault units.

Why is the red light near the lower turret gunner on the wrong side of the doors? It should be a red light in each section where the troops are, right? They needed to have a small area for ammo boxes, medical supplies to be magnetically locked down for rearmament. Perhaps right behind the rear parking Not expecting it to be a large amount but to be able to support the 20 troops that it carries into battles. A space large enough to hold the ammo boxes you see in Star Marine or in SPK's Ai clear missions. If not that idea how about sealing the top part of the ship off so that the turret gunners near the pilot or anyone in the observation area don't need to have helmets in zero atmosphere areas.

Hm... why would they have blast deflectors if they can't store a small flight craft and/or is it a barricade for a fast loading rover? Let's see here; facing troupe holds, left row goes out left door, center rows goes out back ramp and right row goes out right door (left and right rows keep at full capacity) for fast perimeter deployment around ship then onto mission. ;-)

During a hot evac a driver is going to be more focused on the gas pedal than the brakes, soldiers can hide behind it during a fight, a vehicle flooring it on the way out might kick up debris and/or eject dangerous exhaust, and we don't know if any upcoming land vehicles have some sort of yhust based engine for high speed egress.

Best I can figure it's for the gravlev bikes like the X1, Dragonfly, and Nox. Maybe to a lesser extent for the racing cyclone.
