They were the worst. Had to fight them with one Spathi and those human Enterprises. At least at some point you could upgrade enough to out run them. Ah sweet memories.

@@Chmmr I think we forget that the Melnorme are even older than the Ur-Quan. I they were interested in conquest they'd be almost impossible to defeat. Thankfully they're mostly interested in trade, and keeping a low profile to hide from the Kohr-Ah.

Those coordinates it gives you are the location of a star. Go to that star and go to a gas planet. When you find the right one, you will talk to a real slylandro species. Convince them that their probes have a malfunction, and then when you talk to a slylandro probe, a code shows up. Say the code and it destroys the probe.

I've read a fan theory that that was exactly what the Melnorme were hoping would happen when they sold a self-replicating probe with deadly weapons to a race with no knowledge of computer science. Their culture doesn't allow doing things for free, but if the Slylandro were willing to pay fair value for something which just happened to solve the Kohr-Ah problem, albeit with a lot of collateral damage...

Couldn't you just keep these guy in a communication channel while another ship destroys them? The Slylandro said they were docile and wouldn't attack as long as they were communicating.
