Really subtle changes over all that maintain the integrity of the original design. Adding the additional (matching) engines also works well. For now I like the interior as it is but maybe I'll try a few of your suggestions for the interior as well. Thanks for all of these wonderful ideas to try on my ship!

You want your primary weapon bank to be six (no more, no less) Vanguard Obliterator Autoprojectors. (You need to have joined Vanguard and completed their first mission.) The lethality of this exceeds EVERYTHING else you could do. Second weapon bank can be EM weapons for boarding/capturing. The EM weapons that the Star Ranger comes with are great and worth keeping. The third bank I leave empty. All other weapons pale in comparison to the first bank. In a fight, you pick either the Obliterators or the EM weapons to power. You do NOT put power into both weapon banks unless you intend to capture a ship. Otherwise the EM bank remains completely unpowered.

You can also add missiles, a hole bunch of them on the third weapon bank, but only use one power bar, as they are always loaded, you could fire like 24 missiles until you need to reload it… Just keep in mind that you won’t be able to recharge them unless you add more power, but they should be enough to assist you on obliterating enemies! After you jump to somewhere else, they will be fully recharged

Thanks - good info - I am about to build a mid sized fighter with 2-3K cargo and a bridge/cockpit. With 80-90+ mobility and 130 - 140 speed and a great set of weapons, I want it to look good - but function is my primary consideration. Again, thanks for taking the time to share what you know!

Paint that ship with white as the primary color, black as the secondary and you basically have the imperial eagle from elite dangerous.

I always add rear portholes plus windows throughout as I’m a big fan of light and being able to see out of ships. Beyond that, I don’t do a great deal. It’s a solid ship but later in the game I find lifting a class C off elliptical on a high level planet is the best way to pick up a good ship rapidly.

I love that ship,, because of the crew and cargo it can hold right off the bat. I’m probably the only one that does this,, I’m a hoarder in any games, my star eagle have junk everywhere at the cockpit I have 6 plushies sitting around and junk scattered on the ground love this game.

I took the star eagle and tried to make the Normandy from ME. I failed at that but now it has 14 weapons, 2200 cargo, 1130 shields, 92 mobility , 28 Ly jump and a crew of 12.

I went to Stroud shipyard in Narion. I’m at Rank 4 in shipbuilding. But I think rank 2 is enough for the Star Eagle.

With modifications and upgrades the Star Eagle is a great ship one can take to the final end. Frankly far too many hoarders pack rat way too much loot in their ships when one can easily create a warehouse home base outpost.

You may not have leveled up enough. Level 57 plus ship design rank 4 unlocks everything

Be careful with the portholes as they can take away or change your Interiors.

Yeah thats all well and good and its a nice ship. But this will be useless when you finish the game and start NG+. Coz all your ship, credits and weapons will be gone. It will not be carried over. I missed my battle ship that i made.

You have to have the right perks - Starship Engineering and Piloting skills are required for many ship upgrades. Also, the Reactor must be large enough for the weapons if you try to "go big". You CAN change the weapons but it can be complex.
