I think it's a great game design. without the different paths and endings the game would be too linear and dull. Besides this ending is considered the bad ending because you destroy a fake version of him, merely a robot. and andross is still alive

Andross is still alive and still has the Macbeth Weapons Factory, that means the war effort of the Venomian Army and Navy is still intact, this would be like a bad ending for Return of the Jedi: The Death Star II was completed and the Emperor and Vader are still alive, 3/4 of the Rebel Alliance fleet was destroyed at Endor, all systems in the Core and Mid Rim forever remained completely forever loyal to the Empire Mon Cala was destroyed by the Death Star II, leaving the Rebel Alliance without a way to get ships, every system in the galaxy bowed down to the Galactic Empire, leaving the Empire in complete control of all systems

Also we can assume that the Cornerian Fleet suffered several losses at Sector Y and could not backup Bill at Katina. If you take the Hard path, get a medal at Sector Y you can see the Cornerian Fleet in the Mission Accomplished screen. We can assume that the fleet goes to Katina to help Bill and the Star Fox team proceed to Aqua

I always felt like the Venom from Area 6 (Venom 2) and the Venom from Bolse should've been swapped. Venom 2 just felt like a very anti-climactic build-up to me. Meanwhile, this actually felt like you're actually playing in the Venomian home ground, and they're gonna do whatever it takes to stop you. Sure, Area 6 gave everything it had to stop you, but I think if this Venom was the hard route one, it would've been even more epic

The bad ending feels a lot more like the original easy from Star Fox SNES. I mean, nowhere near as hard as the third path in SNES, but still a decent enough challenge, and fun. I like to go back to this version of Venom every now and then because of its traditional setup.

@@retrogamermax8287 No. You have to come through Area 6, which means you have to do most of the hard path to get there. Either beat Sector Z (don't let the missiles crash) or beat Macbeth (make sure the train hits the depot not destroy the boss)

Late, but the reason this is the bad ending is because you beat a fake Andross. The real one is still out there, and he's still dominating the Lylat system. You just did a bit of damage to his plans.
