I hate how we where robbed for a final confrontation between general scale
@supermeuhmeuh7 жыл бұрын
there's reasons behind this i suggest you research a bit about it but yes nintendo took a huge dump on us with this last boss fight, basically the game was never really finished and actually was never supposed to be about Starfox in the first place that's why there is such disconnexion between the whole game and this fight

Jacklost Yedmore Yeah I was pretty let down on that

@@supermeuhmeuh i felt like the starfox bits of the game took away from the original concept, and i know Dinosaur Planet had funding issues and crap and i understand the reasons why they merged with the starfox series, but i wouldve been interested to see Dinosaur Planet in its fullest extent.

@nuguns92 Andross was a bioweapons expert on Corneria, but his research was deemed too dangerous to continue. Andross was angry and continued without Cornerian approval, and that's how he was exiled. Although the manga and the game depict James McCloud's death in two different ways: either disappeared on Venom...or died due to a neutron bomb turning a star into a black hole.

Fun fact, the official statagy guide to this game makes No mention of this boss. You are on your own. So as a kid that never played Star Fox 64, I did not know to do barrel rolls to avoid the sucking attack for a few years. I eventually figured it out, but it still weird that this is the only thing not in the guide.

Andross spits rocks at Fox in every single game. You'd think he would have caught on by now and got some sort of, you know, weapon.
@ZS0511 жыл бұрын
This battle's so weird now, with the two-faced Andross I mean. The original fight was much more nerve wrecking. And I was just watching my own older brother play through it. listen to honey ham's comment. Enjoy your childhood...while it lasts. Most of us adults spend our lives wanting to go back there...one last time.

When I beat this game more than 5 years ago, it was truly shocking to see Andross in it, there were no clues or anything throughout the entire game that he was behind the problems of Sauria, it is almost like Nintendo threw him in at the last moment.
@VGamingJunkieVT4 жыл бұрын
What did they do with his voice? I like how, in 64, he sounds brooding and almost Darth Vader esque. Here, he just sounds like a big monster, which isn't nearly as interesting.

Well he is the main antagonist in the series so you shouldn't be surprised that he shows up quite often. In other Nintendo games it's far more obvious like Legend of Zelda and the Mario games.

I find it kind of funny how the first couple levels trick you into thinking it's like SF64, then the whole game trains in the ways of Zelda style gameplay, only for the final trial, the final boss...to be the same as that very first bit they tripped you up with. I enjoyed this game, don't get me wrong, but you gotta admit you'd imagine they'd give you a little more training with the arwing before thrusting you into this out of nowhere, in case you never played SF64 before.

I really liked the part where Andross was never seen or mentioned throughout the course of the entire game, only utilized a very small portion of the game's mechanics, and deprived us of the General Scales fight. what a fucking awful final boss that was only tacked on as fan service.
@quintonblackburn39167 жыл бұрын
The fault really lies with Rare and Microsoft. This was around the time Microsoft was buying out Rare from Nintendo, so Rare had a partially complete game, but knew they had to finish it up, but lacked the time to do so. Hence the General Scales fight was cut out, and the events that would have fleshed out Andross's presence more were also cut out, leaving only minor foreshadowing in the game proper.

Unlike some people I actually really enjoyed Star Fox adventures and think this is a great game but one thing that always drove me nuts about it Andros did not need to be the final boss. Scales was the main villain and should have been allowed to remain as the final boss Andros always just felt like a a forced shoe horned final boss not to mention it makes no sense for him to be here because in the previous game we saw him get blown the fuk up even the whole well it's magic excuse will only get you so far.

I really liked this game, and I actually really loved the ending. It's great when a video game can pull off a huge plot twist like that. Same thing with Ganondorf emerging near the game's end in Twilight Princess and the ending based on what you did with the Little Sisters the first time I played Bioshock. If Rare hadn't been dissolved and this game was more respectfully regarded as part of the Starfox canon, I wonder if they would have considered bringing General Scales back in a sequel.
@StarforceOnAir14 жыл бұрын
This is why I love Falco. Just when you think it's the end for you, he comes out of freaking knowhere and BAM!! Get Andross right in his blind spot.

Man... This is probably the best version of Andross yet... At least in terms of physical appearance. I didn't care much for T1000 Andross in Star Fox Zero, but this one had a real scary element to his appearance and made him seem far more menacing than ever before. Plus that final battle theme is amazing.

It was pretty epic seeing Andross again, but two things 1. Did they ever explain how he survived after 64? 2. What the hells up with his voice? In 64 he had such a badass voice, now he sounds like an old man
@ryanstanford868510 жыл бұрын
well, think of the time span between 64 and now. if there were a good ( i don't really know.) 4-8 years or even less/more, there would be some development in the character. if they explained his survival............ i don't know.
@lordjor9610 жыл бұрын
if you play the game you will notice that he revive using the energy of the planet or some sourt and then he revive and try to kill fox (yes nintendo revive him because FUCK IT ITS A STAR FOX GAME)

The only reason of survival I can think of is that the cannon ending to 64 was Fox destroyed the decoy and not actually Andross.

TheTimon64 sense of humor? They tossed a wrench at the jukebox to disable it, that isn't satire. Also the characters they gave to the crew seems to be targeted at autistic twelve year old's. 1/10 character development.

If you really think about it, this Andross battle is a combination of previous Andross battles. It starts with the head (shoot the eyes while stuff flies out of it's mouth), then fight the *real* head and disembodied hands.

No wonder Andross is weaker in this battle. He spent so much time making a jabbawokee on half of his head he forgot to put in a decent targeting system.
