Idk, me and my best friend from elementary school loved Star Fox Adventures. We didn’t really care that it was so different from Star Fox 64, we just saw it as a different approach that can exist alongside the conventional one. We liked the environment and characters and much of the gameplay. Yes, we were often frustrated by the puzzles and challenges and often stalled at various portions of the game, but we were also kids, and we, especially me, got stuck at other portions of adventure games like Ocarina of Time as well. We made the best of it just running around doing the things we knew how to do.

31:07 - Changing Tricky's Colour by playing fetch with ball changes how quickly he animates which can either speed up the cooperative sections, return it back to normal or slow it down. If you've ever thought he takes too long set things on fire or dig, play with the ball. Making him faster can also help clear fights with his flame throwing ability more accurately.

For me, _Star Fox Adventures_ represented the best path forward for the franchise paired with a development process and final product so disjointed that it ultimately divided the fanbase and led Nintendo to adopt the wrong philosophy towards the franchise's future installments. Yes, the majority of the gameplay and narrative elements were undercooked at best, but there were still some great positives (such as forging a deeper connection to the world we're saving by actually interacting with it outside the cockpit.) And even the weaker elements should have served as lessons for areas to refine as Nintendo often does with most of their other big franchises like Mario and Zelda. Instead, what we've gotten after _Adventures_ has mostly been reliance on hardware gimmicks and revisiting the first game's scenario, hoping nostalgia for the 90's will sustain it. And each attempt has shown that both critics and fans would rather see it evolve beyond those roots. I think that's why this game still fascinates me because, under all its issues, there's untapped potential that could help revive the franchise for the modern market. I'll gladly take a top-to-bottom reimagining of this game than yet another retread of the first entry's scenario. In fact, there's a few fan projects already that have been attempting to do just that. Star Fox RemAdventures is my personal favorite for how it's aiming to better marry the original _Star Fox_ setting with the mystical aspects and gameplay ideas of _Dinosaur Planet_ without ruining either in the process. It's already shown great promise for a single amateur game designer and I hope Nintendo actually takes notes from what he's done instead of taking it down like they've done with so many other projects.

I remember liking this game for the most part even though it was a weird spinoff. Combat could have really used some more depth. Then again, zelda also had different moves but there wasn't a lot of strategy to those either for the most part. Some level of fast travel would've been helpful as well. Just add a flying dinosaur friend, simple as that. It took me forever to beat though because i couldnt beat the strength trial for ages, my controller might have been broken at the time.

Sometimes i wonder if the decision to make this game was to "inspire" a certain adult game that to my knowledge has never received a single "Cease and desist" from NINTENDO this entire time. Though i could be wrong. And it's made with better story and "gameplay" than this cashgrab of a "game."
