@harvtronix5 жыл бұрын
There's a comment thread down below where someone asked the same question. If your game is a European game then apparently Star Fox is actually something totally different and this game was called Star Wing over there. There's also star fox 2 and star fox 64 which could be what you're talking about. Hard to know without a video or screen shot

Did this in 25 minutes in middle school. Said I was the best in the world. LOL. Anyone else make up phrases for the gibberish Peppy, Slippy, and Falco say?
Couldn't you have just went to the out of this dimension because its basically the final level
@harvtronix6 жыл бұрын
In terms of speed running, the out of this dimension route is a different category. The other problem with that route in terms of speed running is that it's very heavily dependent on luck with the slot machine at the end.

There’s a few different places you can go! I actually learned about the black hole from a promo thing in a box of Apple Jacks back in the day, haha. It showed how to hit the asteroids and make the warp appear. And then mentioned taking the third ring to go straight to venom.

Yes lol. Little by little. My sum of best is under 13 currently. I've been doing comparisons to see if the game runs faster on Switch vs the original SNES. I discovered a couple of small time saves as well, but it's hard to put them all together in a single run
@Jason759134 жыл бұрын
@@harvtronix I was thinking of how you could potentially beat this run by around a second. It will rock once you can get a sub-13min run altogether.

@@harvtronix do you think it's a nostalgia thing from being a kid? Or were the newer games just some how inferior in presentation? Because they were no doubt better from a technological standpoint, as well as content aspect. BTW, did you ever play Starfox 2?
@harvtronix Жыл бұрын
You're definitely onto something with nostalgia being part of it; it's one of the first games I ever played and it didn't disappoint, so of course it's gonna leave a lasting impression on my soul! But on the other hand, it's far from a perfect game (case and point: it's super laggy, and lag optimization is kinda-sorta the main reason speed runs for it even exist 🤣). I also LOVE the sound design for it. The hard hitting orchestral music and the bass heavy sound effects make it so much more immersive than anything else I've played in the series. SF64's goofy dialog was WAY too loud and distracted from the experience of "Dude, I'm a fighter pilot in a state-of-the-art arwing saving the galaxy!" I did indeed play SF2! I played it for the first time a few years back on the SNES Classic. I got a credit roll after my first 20 minutes without taking a single point of damage. Talk about a let down 🫠. I was so confused because IMO SF1 is a REALLY tough game, and SF2 was not at all what I would have expected as a follow-up. I'm curious of your thoughts on SF2 if you've played it!
@sigma20xx Жыл бұрын
@@harvtronix Exactly. That's why I mentioned the part about the sequels having a technological advantage. The music? Chefs kiss. I don't know who sequenced those drums, but they did one hell if a job. I... kind if played Starfox 2, if you want to call it that. I played the unfinished rom on an emulator many moons ago. So I wouldn't say I got to experience the game as intended. I stopped buying Nintendo hardware after the GameCube. It no longer appealed to me. With all the gimmicky controllers and what not. When I did get the GC, it was solely for Smash. So I'm no longer buying Nintendo hardware for a handful of games. I love the Zelda series. So I've had to miss out because of that.
