When I was younger, I always assumed Star Fox 1 was really hard toward the end of the game, and while it does increase in difficulty, it's not nearly as hard as I thought. I recently beat both Star Fox 1 and 2 on my SNES Classic, and really enjoyed them! Star Fox Assault will always be my favorite of the series, though!

This is probably my favorite in the series, alongside Assault. I even like the arwing design the best here. Better than 64's crooked wings. There's a reason this design was reworked and used in Assault. It's the best looking shape. It's by no means an impossible game, but it's the most difficult I'd say. What I like is that it has some tight, focused level design. I came for a rail shooter, I got a solid one. Nothing stupid added, just solidly difficult on rails space shooter.

Although I vastly prefer Starfox 64 I would argue this game has the best soundtrack.
