Our battery played this cadence when I marched at Ball State.

Boy, I REALLY miss the Corps “ Trooping the Stands”. I know with all the props and sideline equipment it is no longer feasible, but it sure was an exciting part of The Drum Corps Show experience.

@Rampantsnowshoe11 ай бұрын
@@highstimulation2497we did something similar in 2017 at troop at a couple smaller shows in the Midwest. Some corps still do it on more special occasions like home-shows.

I like this vid. I tried out for Star '93 while still in high school. I had never marched corps before and really had no chance. I ended up marching Railmen that year.

I thought I had no chance until a member convinced me to audition. I was a trombone player with no bari experience. Glad I listened. You never know until you try.

@7 Angels 7 Plagues I was indirectly complimenting him for giving it a shot while telling my improbable story of making it. I really didn't think I had a chance until a friend encouraged me.

Our Corps, Spokane Renaissance, used Stevie Wonder's "I Wish' for a cadence. Best cadence ever.

Do you have a video of it?
@paulbeebe91823 жыл бұрын
@@shouryushinku9024 I really wish we did. You could really step out to that cadence. Even if you were tired, hot and hungry, it put a bounce in your step.

i was born way too late for Renaissance but i was lucky enough to march a year of Thunder👍🏻 sad to say the Stevie Wonder cadence wasn't in our book

Whoa!! Crazy stuff. Love the tuning, reefed as heck!

For 1993? Not really reefed at all. Compare this tuning to almost anyone else in the top 12.

This cadence was not fun to march to 🤣 The beat turned over so much it was tough to find sometimes.

What would be the reason for the snares to not have scoops? I don't believe they used them at all this year.
@rodicus Жыл бұрын
They never had any issues being heard at any dynamic over the brass. The arranging and the playing was THAT good.
@timf5963 Жыл бұрын
@@rodicus No doubt! I was wondering if it was a deliberate choice to arrive at a particular sound. I don't know much about snare tuning in general.
