The best game from Candidates 2013, Carlsen's masterpiece.
@meliniak6 жыл бұрын
positions like those from the puzzles may not look good while being evaluated, but they contain a single move, hard to spot, that changes the hole picture. these are the spots Carlsen excels in. he can just see them ahead of his opponents.

In the 3 puzzle can black checkmate white??? if the check is given from h1 followed by h3 g4 nd also rook can follow up from a3
@danielhowell39884 жыл бұрын
15:10 Would i be wrong in saying that Queen takes Bishop on d5 would be a good move? As far as i see, the queen threatens the other Queen and if black takes the white queen, white can then promote his pawn to another Queen? Leading to White being up momentarily by one pawn? Is there an alternate idea that counters such a move?
@fire_m_fist54743 жыл бұрын
This would result in a queens endgame, hard to win

Am I now an excellent video pauser or an excellent enjoyer of the show? Hmmmm...;-) I think we all have to admire Carlsen's masterful play, no tactical fireworks and sacrifices, but perfect positional play and turning a small advantage of only one pawn into a victory - impressive!

Queen takes pawn on A3... if you take the B2 pawn, why does the queen have to move to this undefended square under threat? I agree taking B2 puts a lot of pressure on the King and loses the game because the pawn is pinned by whites Queen. Black Queen to A3 I didn't understand.

Why not C2 with the queen when the bishop discovers it? The bishop can then capture the knight because the black queen is not in the white queen's line of fire. It feels like A3 is just setting yourself up for this to happen, just so that you can get another white pawn?... Unless I'm missing something obvious.
