Another great recommendation. 3rd game ive purchased because of this chanel. Played an hour so far and I'm getting different vibes from it so far. From moving around the map in a final fantasy style and entering camp at night reminded me of dragon age to a degree. Combat system is well done and I like the timeline at the top as it adds that something extra to turn bass combat. 👍 Edit: did i say 3rd? Try 5th. Northgard, moonlighter, children of morta, ff12. With a number on my wishlist like windbound, under the jolly Rodger and ancestors legacy. Such a good channel 👏

The game looks beautiful and combat system seems nice, i like it being turn based since it feels like most roguelikes always go tactics style or real time.. If only it wasn't a roguelike. Feels like such an easy out instead of fleshing out multiple areas and story.

I am one of the guys that mentioned crashes and other bugs. i reported all of them to the devs, and they confirmed that they are all known and they are working hard to deliver a performance patch. They've been nothing but great, and this game is going to be on par with halcyon 6, I'm sure

Just here to say that I bought this game yesterday and have had 8 crashes in less than 20 hours of gameplay. Currently I am on a crash loop where the save file opens in the middle of a fight and at the end of the turn the game just crashes so I gotta cancel the mission and lose any progress I made in this 4hr run. Dont buy this game guys, its buggy as hell! Literally unplayable and frustrating as hell!! Its sad because the game itself is very addictive but the crashes are just on another level

Yeah I have this game on the gamepass and I've had about 7 or 8 crashes too, really enjoy the game and I'm glad the saves work well too and I didn't lose much progress, game just needs some QOL updates to be good I think

It got parched and I could finish the 3rd planet and enter the mothership with no issues. Its a great game to be fair, worth giving it a shot

From what I gather the game has had many updates since it first came out both with improvements, fixes and balancing issues. It also has had more content added and more DLC is also planned in the future. Put it this way, i don't think SR is the 75% game anymore! 👍

I really enjoy this game, however the technical issues are really bad on switch. I get crashes and stuttering very frequently. The console version has been needing an update for a long while to catch up with the performance and additions of the non console versions.

I've heard that the Switch version suffers from enough laggyness and crashes plus tiny text in mobile mode that the developer has said they're working on a patch to fix it, even delaying the PS4 version til January. I think this'll be a PS5 purchase for me.

Thanks for the review. I know you state it in the review that there's permanent upgrades, when I played it albeit for not that long. I thought it told me my characters reset? Could you maybe elaborate on what is permanent? I can't stay with actual rogue likes for too long I need that lite aspect!

Between rounds you can spend your currency to permanently boost different aspects of your character or spend it unlocked new more powerful characters. Means you’re at least getting stronger between runs. Mark

Every roguelike has to be compared with Hades. Unfortunately few will live up to that standard.

@@NovaBushido Just because it's the best, so it sets the standard for how good a roguelike can be. So many people that didn't like roguelikes are into Hades, and that includes me. It's helpful to measure a game against another game at least in some features to see where it succeeds and where it fails.

It's definitely one of the most popular atm, but other really strong ones like Risk of Rain 2 have been super popular on steam and consoles.

Also, this comment originated in Mark's comment about the how much the voice acting improved the storytelling in Hades. I remember back in the day when GTA 3 came out, and all these open world games were compared to it because of the standard that it set.

Most roguelikes don't focus on story or emersion, it's more of the gameplay loop that's important, as that's the biggest and most important part of these types of games. But yea there are other elements hades does do better than others.

Man, I'm teetering on the edge of grabbing this game. The battle visuals were what lured me in not long ago when the game was on the "coming soon" list. The design for the giant mech creatures are so flippin' cool too. But the mixed-bag-ness of other aspects of the game are making me think of waiting for a sale.

This game is gorgeous on PC. Has multiple frame rate options-60 is the minimum-at 120fps it runs like butter and looks gorgeous. I’d also say it’s a lot more than 15 hours. But I suck at Rogue-likes. Plus sitting there and strategizing moves. Early games runs have taken a fair amount of time. Definitely a couple hours.

I like some of what I hear. One of the things about Risk of Rain 2 that disgusted me was that the unlocks were extremely withheld. I got close to beating the last boss on a playthrough that lasted over an hour, and all I unlocked was the second character. Nothing else, when I finally got overwhelmed and died.
