It was like two different shows when Beth Hart was performing. The poor challengers had no idea what game they were playing in. Beth in her raggedy jeans and tank top, the challengers in their ball gowns. Totally different types of songs. And Ed had to be kind of amazed that the audience was going crazy for Beth; I think the other girls were more his type of performer. He had to wonder what was going on.

Excellent, exactly right, but even worse, the other competitors thought it was about "singing well," hitting the high notes, enunciating clearly...What a rude awaking it must have been to be simply blown off the face of the Earth by Beth's stunning power, infectious enthusiasm, vocal creativity and intermediate 'dirty' notes, and naked authenticity. It was a massacre. You actually feel sorry of the other competitors because they were talented, worked hard, and had serious skills but Beth was a force of nature that made them look silly. (Irony is, she so much more skilled today that, looking back, it's almost somewhat cringy...)

I have all these on VHS in a box. I discovered and watched her back in the day and I went crazy and I recorded and I found her and got to meet her and that was way before Google or Facebook or KZbin. And I was hoping this one was on here I found it

Piece of My Heart is a great song if it is done the way Jans did it the rock and roll way wiht guitars. This modern computer music takes the soul and rock and roll out of everything, phone zombie garbage, Beth was able to save it because she is great..Should have been the rock version.
