Those were Quantums fired by the Sovereign in this video. The universal translator just got confused and called them Photons.

She was going to be captain, then I decided to make a male one and by the time I noticed I was rendering the first skirmish and all else was done. Just pretend she was onboard in transit to another ship or something. I removed a pip so she's the commander if I do any more with the characters.

SFB. It's a Board-Game, that brought Star-Trek to Life, in My Hands. One ship at a time . See, Star Trek got ruined by One Director, that got Enamored with Star-Wars-type fights, at SUB LIGHT speeds. Trek (if you know of Capt. Archer, btw?) Did Show Warp-Speed fighting, and TOS noted such in a few Episodes, but couldn't 'show' you those battles/effects in the 1960's. So, using the little Gambit of moving at warp-3, tossing out Transporter-delivered Bombs INTO your opponent, is a Kirk-Era THING, IF, their Shields are compromised. But, Also, it means that a Star Trek Ship need-not Even GO TO Sub-light to Fight AND TURN (see, Star-Wars ship go only Straight-ish beyond Light-speeds), leaving the REST of SCI-FI groping around at what Star-Trek calls 'Impulse' speeds or similar (granted, Star Wars and Battle-Stars Fighters might be a bit faster, in Space, than Max Impulse of a Trek ship, and B-5 ships have the better Agility by Skewing on-axis. Seems there's NOT a canon that addresses these Tactical Issues, correctly.); thusly, a Star Trek Ship never NEEDS to Engage a Star-Destroyer in SUB-LIGHT combat, it can just 'Orbit ' in a random group of loops skewed to be unpredictable, and lob Photon/Quantum Torpedoes, Phasers, and the random Transporter-sent Anti-Matter Quantum Bomb (which may go into a gap of shielding/into the Enemy ship itself?!! Big Boom, btw) WITHOUT FEAR OF Sub-light Beams/Munitions ever hitting It! Yet, None of you 'modern' Space-Ship warriors seems to know, how much More Damaging a Federation/Klingon/Romulan/Tholian Cruiser would be, in-script, in the "other" sci-fi universes...

Interesting, but there are some holes.... did not the Galaxy class not tumble into the Star Destroyer, blowing both to bits.... so where did it come from?? The Sovereign Class was already in impulse speed, when the command was given to go to impulse. Looks like it went into warp speed instead. You SERIOUSLY under estimated the Shadows Molecular Slicer. It would only take one or two shots to destroy the Sovereign, more so when Federation ships, except for the Defiant, have no to very minimal hull armor. There are good shielded ships, like the Abbai with hull armor, in the Babylon universe, and they did not even have a chance against the Shadows. Remember the Shadows are way ahead in technology, esp. Bio-technology than the Minbari, and the Minbari consider Matter/Anti-matter tech (like that of Star Trek) to be obsolete. (A 1000 years ago, the Minbari did use matter/anti-matter tech)
