That might be because biologically speaking, he's not actually his son. Both Ryan and Nolan are Anne's sons from a previous relationship. The only difference is that Ryan has been legally adopted, whereas Nolan has not.

I'll be honest: Star Trek Catan looks about as interesting as the original, but this episode was worth it for Wil's epic "KHAAAAAAAN!" and the Star Trek Spaceship Bump.

That's about right. I'd rather play so many other board games than this, but if I had to get stuck playing a Catan game, I'd prefer this over the original. The retheme is a cheap effort, but works for me. And the character cards breathes more life into the game.

This series has raised my opinion of Wil Wheaton since he usually plays a jerk that everybody hates on television shows. I'm happy it exists and have bought two games thus far after seeing them played(Gloom and Pandemic). Great show! I would like to place a vote for the Pathfinder card game to be played! At 28:10 you can see that she only has 5 cards (same round she rolls the 7). Afterwards, an undisclosed number of rounds pass, which happens regularly on TableTop, to time 28:29 where Kari plays the winning combinations with her bagillion cards. I am sure that post productions was going for dramatic scenes and entertainment knowing some viewers are skilled at scrutinizing details. Hope this helps.
