I'll be honest I think it's kinda of a crime Garak wasn't made a series regular

The showrunners wanted to up him to series regular starting in Season 4. The studio objected.... thought that was too many series regulars. Personally... they show should have demoted Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko) off the titles after season 3... "trading" the space for Andrew Robinson. I like that the series didn't push Jake Sisko off the show like TNG did with its child characters... Wesley Crusher & Alexander Rhozhenko (Worf's son). TNG during its series run made Data look like a more responsible parent than Worf & Beverly Crusher. The only reason I suggest adjusting Jake Sisko to recurring status... a more accurate reflection of his minutes. Jake appears in only a 3rd of season 5. Jake appears in maybe half of season 6. Season 6 & 7... Martok, Weyoun, Damar, Nog, maybe even Rom & Garak were utilized more at the time. Season 7 titles basically could have had 12-14 names... would have cleaned up the clutter in Act II.
