Despite years of effort I rarely every much warmed up to her, but I really enjoyed that moment here too. Perhaps because this skit's writing failed to capitalize on its promise (except for the telepathy bit), and so nuking it from orbit was the only logical thing left to do. With the Fraiser cast appearing in their prime, and a big set budget, and Mulgrew bridging the casts, I was hoping for a little more "Wow," ... but this whole skit seemed like a collection of "I hate Mondays" jokes.

It's a sketch. A skit is improvised. Is it genius though? I doubt there was that much thought put into it since the shows both filmed on the Paramount lot right near each other. The SNL sketch where they reimagined the ship as being The Love Boat: The Next Generation made more sense. They didn't really mash these two together as much as drop characters from Frasier into Voyager. I'm sorry to be the wet blanket. NERD ALERT: I have answers to both of those questions. 1) Seven of Nine hadn't been introduced at the time of this clip... Star Trek's 30th Anniversary (this clip was part of a TV special celebrating the milestone) was in 1996. It wasn't until a season later that Seven came aboard the Voyager. 2) I believe Kate Mulgrew stepped in at the last minute and the script was tweaked because of a relapse in Kelsey Grammer's fight with addiction (but don't quote me on that).
