Some of the deleted scenes should have been left in for sure, but several of them were alternate takes, and ended up on the cutting room floor for good reason.

A really good doctor would never say something like that that to his patient. McCoy does not need to advocate his abilities to a patient. A doctor of his stature has no need for petty comments like that.

@@greeremalachi926 Yeah but that's just Bones's style, always butting in where he's not needed. I think it was cut because Bones never was a fighter and him jumping up there and getting shot seems out of character.

@@JGG1701 He wasn't 'sacrificing himself for others' here, he was just butting in and got shot. In 'Empath' Bones didn't fight, he injected Spock and took his place. Never said Bones wasn't a humanitarian, he was.

The stun sound effect is from the later-2nd season and the 3rd season. Also, in the 1st season the stun effect wasn't the localized glow of the phaser effect on the target, it was a typical beam onto the target. This would have been awkward in this excellent treasure Mego Star Trek just presented to us. I do very much love this deleted take, however.

Thank you. You are very, very accurate. I could only find that phaser stun sound effect, as I don't work for Paramount and only have access to what I see online, and what I even have time to edit. If I were getting paid, this would be a totally different story, but I appreciate your feedback. Thank you for your comments. 👍
