It's constant angst. I always go back to the pre- .... whatever this 'timeline' is .. and the other 5 series. A story, characters you really care for, no constant teary drama, hugs. No woke for me. Pretty much been politically left during my life (going back to Sept. 12, 1966 when it all began) but this is too much.

This show seems to deal with Trauma and PTSD. I have PTSD. We all deal differently, and it becomes a new hurdle for characters. But I think they've hammered that enough.

Just rewatched every season and I have always liked this show but after watching it again I realized that WOW this show is awesome I just truly enjoy watching it so full of great characters and hope just love setting down and getting lost in the world

Thanks for this OP. Star Trek Discovery is a very enjoyable and entertaining show with, like you said, great characters. S4 was excellent. It's one of the best seasons in Star Trek. Loved how the story pitted the crew against each other.

Giving it a shot. Burnham going after Book. I was disappointed, they couldn't resist doing the overworked bit where a diminutive strong female character manages to take out a guy twice her size. She's getting her ass handed to her, begs for one more chance, and inexplicably takes him down. I was left just shaking my head. Girl-power!

​@@scpguy1381 uh, yes. A human who actually watched the series and didn't just take internet discourse about it at face value without verifying for myself. What I didn't do is make the same mistake I did back in the day, where people kept saying Star Trek was too nerdy and therefore worthless, and I just believed them. Pretty much every "issue" I've seen people levy at Discovery is nonsensical or lightly-veiled hatred against the makeup of the cast. Come talk to me in 10 years when people realize how good Discovery is because they aren't all acting like lemmings falling off a cliff about the show.

@@NickWrightDataYT I watched discovery when it came out in 2016 and at first I thought I was fine not great but fine, slowly though it broke down it’s own series destroying its own continuity like Picard season 1-2 did. Whether it be the horrible red angel relveal , or the fact the Discovery went to the future for no reason since they had already destroyed control, to the blatant character assassination, it didn’t go well, but with the new crew set up in Pic-s3 I think that there’s light at the end of the tunnel for this franchise

@@scpguy1381 I really don't know what you mean with your claims of character assassination or continuity destruction, or even your claim that the red angel reveal was "horrible". I have seen no issues with any of that. In regards to the one actual bit of criticism you brought, about "why they went to the Future", the whole point was that no matter what Michael Burnham's Mom did traveling around time, the future was ALWAYS barren and devoid of life, because Control, or something like it, coupled with the sphere data, would ALWAYS win. The only way to win was to bring Discovery, and the sphere data, out of the equation.

This show somehow managed to "preach" tolerance , inclusivity and all that dandy stuff to the star trek franchise that basically made those things up and made a white man kiss a black women in the 60's. What they gonna do next, make a show where they teach Einstein physics. They went to the future and destroyed the entire history of star trek like all the hard work of centuries of the federation came to nothing because some "special" boy sneezed.

I thought the show might be interesting and it was for season 1 & 2. I couldn't stand her whinney face and the long over dramatic WOKE virtue signaling so I am done. As a completionist I had to see where this was going so I thank you for this recap. I didn't have to sit through one episode of any of season 3 and 4. I believe I am no longer a trekkie after seeing what the lore has become which is "Just as bad as woke star wars". Again I thank you for this recap and I bid all you faithful people farewell.
