@@toolbaggers Picards last season was good, because of all the fanservice. But apart from that it's a terrible show. Discovery at least had it's highs in the early seasons. Strange New Worlds seems to get it right though.

@@davidlaurahay Enterprise ended in 2005, so... It kinda did since it had been 12 years. And Discovery kicked of all the other shows. If Discovery wasn't successful they wouldn't have brought the other shows.

It's sad that Discovery takes place in the 31 First century and never once has any writer or director ever cover the temporal cold wars.

The writers haven’t done anything at all with the 31st century. Instead of exploring the state of all the familiar planets and known races we got two consecutive and tiresome galaxy ending threats. They couldn’t even bother to show us Earth, not even when debris from the DMA were hitting Earth. This show is so shallow through and through, what a huge missed opportunity to do some very cool stuff.

@@s.hagens5389 Because the CGI is cheaper.... I think the show isn't doing as well as it did earlier, so they cut the costs and are only doing cheap CGI that all looks the same. Compare it to the first three episodes that were also a CGI fest, but looked like a movie (which, granted, got some people fired).

The Only cool stuff about Discovery was season 1 and 2 involving Captain Lorca. The Mirror Universe is fantastic. I like how the show depicts how evil humankind is/and can be. How terrifying, empty, and dark it is in that world. And I like how they didn't candy coat violence in Star Trek. It's a reality that is much needed in any star Trek show. To give the fan's a feeling of reality in space , in the future.

I honestly forgot this show is still going.. but do apricate the recap, saved me a lot of time watching the show. And the recap reaffirmed why i stopped watching it. I do love Lower Decks, Prodigy and Strange New Worlds though, so at least some good Trek did come out.

Other than the awful Tilly episode, I couldn't remember most of this season. (Good idea, character I like, bad execution.) Otherwise, season 4 was the Motion Picture Extended Extended Extended EXTENDED Edition. Could have been condensed into an interesting two parter. Instead, it's watered down into ten fluff filled episodes. It's really unfortunate I feel this way. I feel zero attachment to this crew. When Lower Decks killed Shax, I felt something. When they do their season finalé montage of moments/characters, I know I will feel empty. If you like discovery, that's great! It's nice to enjoy things. 3x1 is the only episode that made it seem like discovery was turning a corner. Sadly, it was because it wasn't The Michael Burnham Show. I'll be watching season 5 out of obligation, and to avoid spoilers. Rather than any sense of excitement.

What I dislike the most about Discovery is that nothing has consequences. The stakes are pumped up to 500% danger level but in the end no one dies and nothing bad actually happens. Burnham knows it all, does to all and is basically a flawless superhero. In the end she’s always right, there’s no learning process and hence no real character development. I don’t like the slow, dragged-out plot, which could have easily been accompanied by some fun B and C storylines to make the episodes feel fuller and to finally flesh out the bridge crew. But no, everything is about Burnham and the main plot. The second they announced the DMA was on its way to Earth I predicted nothing bad would happen. In the finale we get 2 cop-out deaths and a quick resolution to the spore drive being broken. If Book and the Earth general had actually died, discovery was actually stranded and Earth had been badly damaged, this season would have been way better for me. Now it was a slow, predictable and boring soapy mess with a way too sappy ending.

Burnham will go down as one of the worst Starfleet Captains of all time. The problem with STD is Burnham was introduced as a criminal....nevermind all the dumb things the production staff did with a prequel to TOS....as in nothing looked correct. Sigh.....She Trek is also old. Not seeing season 5. Would rather see Enterprise season 4 again. To the SNW team....please get better in Season 3 and.....please keep Kirk out of the show. He is poorly wedged in and the actor does not give of any real Kirk vibes. Chris Pine made that role his by not emulating The Shat but he did give subtle nods to Shat.

The first part of your comment made me bust out laughing because I’m so used to SOOOO many Trek fans willing to give this show a pass and will even write a large amount of plot or head canon. I know there is an amount in the older Treks but I just couldn’t with this new stuff. You see people that start of like you (beginning sentence) but they are so glad it’s back for another season🤮🤮🤮🤮. I cancelled my subscription when they did the musical and watch what I want for free now. They’ve had me bent over for too long.

The Critical Drinker's review up and through season 3 (?) said everything I need to know: Discovery is a $hitshow ... I grew up on TOS, NextGen, Voyager, DS9, etc but quit watching around Enterprise (and the "prequel" movies) ... this iteration is crap, I could barely get past this season's first episode 🤮👎 I cannot stomach how a season 5 got greenlighted 😆😆😆😆

Likewise stopped watching after Discovery went into the future. Just simply boring with very little creative effort. More soap opera than scientific adventure. Honestly believe the writers had no clue what to do and dropped back to relationship building rather than adventure. Or maybe it just reflects where we are as a society where the Kim Kardashians financially rule. Either way, I’m glad to see it finally laid to rest. Won’t bother with Season 5 or even a Season 4 recap.

Sorry ,I mean No disrespect to you or your channel. But let me start by saying I have not and will not be watching your video. The title you chose is or was enough for me to just say you should rename it as Season 4 "recrap" I absolutely hated season 4. Being a 60 year STAR TREK veteran this is more hurtful to me than to anyone. So Sad to say I chose not to watch your video for fear you might support it and My hate mail would fill your inbox, or you might agree with my feelings and I do not want to have to live thru that over again. I will, despite all my gut feelings , watch season 5. But be sure I will wait for the season to be complete and will fast forward thru "the parts that make me sick to my stomach" Just so what ever devil child that is spawned from this series, I will be aware of the prequel thoughts.
