| The Sovereign Class was developed for deep space exploration initially. However, with the increasing threat of the Dominion presence Starfleet took her advanced systems and adapted them to the Defiant Class tactical specifications. This included a heavy armament of quantum torpedoes. She fulfills both roles as a deep space explorer and Ship of the Line.
@Elthenar2 жыл бұрын
@@SKINWALKER The Sovereign class was designed while the Borg threat was still very real. As a result it had far more design space dedicated to combat ability than was standard for a Federation cruiser. It had those quantum torpedoes when it was first commissioned, it used them in the Battle of Sector 001. In addition to the heavy armament, it was also designed with the same advanced bio-neural gel pack based computers as Voyager. It was actually far more advanced in every way than the Defiant class. The only tech the Defiant had that the Soveriegn didn't was the ablative armor and the borrowed cloaking device of the OG Defiant. The refit did significantly beef up it's weaponry but it only added more of what was there.

Startrek Logic 101, hes going after earth, even when earth did nothing to him. Earth didnt steal his DNA, Earth didnt grow him as a clone, earth didnt enslave and torture him. Every villain in Start Trek has earth as Target. Borg, Dominion, Shinzon. Why? Yeah, Star Trek Logic.
@quantumvideoscz20525 ай бұрын
The Borg and Dominion have it as a target because it is the main planet of the Federation. It's like if you're attacking the US and choose Washington, or the UK and choose London. As for Shinzon, he's going after Earth for that reason as well AND because it will hurt Picard. Notice how, say, Khan completely ignores Earth because why bother going there? Or how the conspirators in Undiscovered Country don't care about Earth, because their target is at Khitomer.
