Kirk finally hammers down his point when he says to Kang, "Be a pawn, a toy. Be a good soldier that never questions orders." Kang realizes that he IS being used by the alien and declares, "Klingons kill for their own purposes." It took guts for a Klingon warrior like Kang to learn that he was under the control of the hate entity as much as Kirk (and his crew) were.

Kirk's speech here is poetry! Listen to the meter and rhyme. And...it's improvised (within the framework of the story's reality). What's more is that it is delivered with power and sincerity. That makes Shatner's Kirk a Romantic hero (in the literary sense)!

Sword fighting and martial arts seem to have made a bit of a resurgence in the future of Star Trek. Many Starfleet officers are seen practicing their fencing skills or engaging in hand to hand combat. Probably a necessity to keep up with new foes like the Klingons who are physically stronger than the average human and have very developed martial cultures.

Danbasta- TNG tried to make their alien appear more realistic. What are the chances that intelligent aliens would look so much like us like they did in TOS? Almost zero. But back then there was no funding and technology to make realistic looking aliens.
