I think I read somewhere that she recorded quite a bit of dialogue before her passing away so the computer voice could be consistent in Star Trek. And also yeah with AI voice and deepfakes making progress it could be soon we have artificial actors reprising the roles of dead people.

Everything about this episode was awful except the Enterprise D part. The borg have no telepath abilities, they use technology to communicate. Jurati Borg would have known everything about DNA borg and Jack so she would have warned Picard. DNA Borg make no sense and ignoring S2 makes no sense. Transporters do not replace DNA with every beam out with a "template". That goes against everything from past star trek. Killing off Shaw was horrible, do they not want legacy characters anymore like what they just did with TNG??? The only fix to all of this right now is to time travel or have this all be Picard's dream from when he was dying in S1.

So there I was pouring a cup of coffee, several minutes AFTER the episode ended, and just started bawling (thanks to the last ten minutes of the episode). As someone in his mid-60s who began watching Star Trek the Original Series from the first episode, this episode was something special. I particularly like when Geordi asks Data to say something positive and Data replies "I hope we all die quickly!". Soon as I saw the fleet museum I thought - Enterprise-D. It's going to be a challenge to retake the fleet in the final episode. Only thing I can think of is that Jack will be able to resist being fully assimilated and will help save the day.

@@SeansModelBuilds2017 I don't think that the Borg will allow any transporters to function. Besides, there is no way the Enterprise could overpower the fleet. So much to love about this season, and this episode in particular. Seven and Shaw, Picard and Data, LaForge reacting to eminent loss of his girls, the 'D' reveal, all tear worthy. The thing they didn't do, which I was expecting to be the final cherry on a FANTASTIC episode, was to have the Enterprise come about, go into warp, and have that iconic flash, as the music draws to a crescendo. Otherwise, fantastic.

I just loved the LaForge girls from their introductions and wanted to see them in the fight and on the scene. Georgi was always my favorite as the talented but naive guy and I wanted to see his daughters crush it benefiting from the learned lessons he'd imparted- using personal growth to fuel coming through in the clutch. (Especially with Sidney feeling a soft spot for Jack which was sweet in a dark moment) But what would I know I'm not a writer.

This whole series has been a ray of hope and made me fall in love with Trek again. I was checked out and had given up, thinking how lucky we were to have had what we had. And I’m so thrilled to have been proven wrong. Older ST always affected me emotionally, it was so well written, with characters you cared about, and that’s why I loved it. I grew up with the original cast of Kirk and Spock, and to this day I can’t watch “that scene” without a lump in my throat. This series has caused a tear in the eye on more than occasion. Data winning against Lore being one that stands out. But the end of that last episode was nothing short of joyous and so beautifully poignant and so expertly conceived that up until that point, I didn’t realise how much I had grieved for something I clearly missed a lot. I really missed feeling something watching Star Trek.

That was a clever storyline depth to the transporters. I assumed it was because the Changelings were using them to move operatives back and forth and capturing key personnel, such as Tuvok; not that they were using it to install Borg Tech. By the way, the ending was heartfelt. But the Enterprise-D saucer being recovered from Veridian III was spoiled a while ago, the twist was the rest of the ship being fully restored. I had to replay that scene dozens of times.

Thanks so much for your positive and happy review, I really enjoy your channel! For myself, I loved this Episode 9, I loved it and it makes such sense to me - this has been about Jean-Luc Picard's life journey, and these people are his true family. Not everyone has a traditional family but the love and committment is no less real. I so loved that Riker said wherever Picard goes, they go. They love him, and he loves them. And they are united in their intense concern and care for the young people, their children, and the children of others. When they all together walked onto the bridge - I cried my eyes out and not embarrassed to say it lol. Star Trek: Picard Season 3 has been an utter joy for me and it's been the first time in years that I've looked forward to watching a new episode of anything, much less paid happily to do so. That it is all nearly over is breaks my heart, because it's been a long road together, many years, and it's nearly to the end of that road. Less than one hour with these long treasured and beloved characters and people and their life journeys, and what they've represented to so many for so long. I don't want to say goodbye. Yet it's happening; only one more hour after decades. I'm just so grateful this Season 3 has been a coming full circle, we got to see their individual evolutions, to see their changes, their learning and and to be with them again has just been a joy. I'm so grateful to Terry Matalas and the entire cast; they clearly put their whole hearts into this and it means a lot to many people. Thanks again so much for your review, it's lovely to share this all with people who feel the same, best wishes and get the tissues out for next week, it's going to be tough lol. Take care!😊

Or has something happened to Jurati and she is behind everything? Or was their a Borg Civil War where Jurati lost? Very sad to see Shaw get killed. He grew on me!

Overall...I thought this was a fantastic episode and a wonderful ending with the Enterprise-D restored in all her glory. One question that is nagging at me is the Borg introduction into the plot. If you go back to Season 2 Episode 10 Agnes Jurati and the Borg Queen essentially became one; and the Borg and the Federation had formed an alliance. The Borg were also guarding a transwarp conduit that was a definite threat...the "guardians at the gate". Since the two seasons were filmed back-to-back, I have to wander how this will play into the Borg story of Season 3 in the finale.

It was a different Queen. Different "hives" have different leaders. It has only been an assumption that the entire Borg "species" is all linked into one.

@@billkeithchannel Thank you! I've been saying the same thing for so long! To assume that the entire Borg society is linked by one Queen is to go against what we know of all hive style species... there are multiple hives, each with a different Queen in charge of them.

I thought is was the best episode of all. I can't see how the final one will play out. It really makes you wonder... they have to do another series with the TNG crew. This played out so well. Yes this episode was very emotional. The writers really pulled out all the stops on this one. Can't wait to see next week's final episode.

I love the small scenes. The escape to the shuttle is great; Riker says they'd be taken over, and Data responds: "Shuttles don't connect to the new system. They're autonomous". When Seven said: "The Robot is Right. It's the only way." I totally cracked up. Seven says it to Riker totally ignoring that Data's offended and Georgi shocked. It's exactly what Seven would say, or to use an oxymoron, Seven's the master of pointedly blunt statements. Seven never met Data, including this most human version. Being ex-Borg means she views biology and technology differently.

What a ride it's been seeing the old TNG crew get back together. Even Ro. But it felt incomplete. I've come to realize how much the ship is as important as any member of the crew. Kirk has his Enterprise and Picard has his. And when The Enterprise-D made its appearance after 30 years absent, the emotions were those of seeing a long lost friend. Such joyous tears. @@Trancepotato Yep. It is canon that Seven's nanoprobes can reanimate necrotic-tissue. However, the doctor that they have on board isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer so it would be sketchy trying that procedure. Of course, this would be a perfect example to bring back The Doctor (Robert Picardo) after everything has settled down to help Seven bring Shaw back to life since they've done it before with Neelix.

I was disappointed in the episode at first. Having the Borg be the big revelation was not what I wanted to happen. But… watching the rest of the episode changed my mind. I loved the way it all played out, the transporter being used to assimilate everyone was completely unexpected. That final scene though… I turned into a blubbering baby when it happened lol. This season is tons of fan service, and I’m all for it. Amazing season so far, but I’m having a hard time imagining how everything will be resolved in one last episode. I have a feeling it will become of the best finales, right alongside All Good Things.
