Nice to see a TMP -tech Kelvin-like starship. I would think that it might have a larger nacelle? Of course, for the Athena's duties, it might be slow and underpowered?
@Potemkin17114 жыл бұрын
She's very much modeled after the Kelvin. ;) and she's outmoded and out dated. Her function was to provide support for three distant science outposts.

Too bad there was no follow up. It would make an interesting series along the lines of ST voyager.

This episode of funny the person that's playing the captain look like she's due for a retirement herself

@@Potemkin1711 Captain Spurlock is very unlucky--or extraordinarily fortunate depending on how one wants to view the situation. Space is mostly a lot of empty space; even Kirk and crew had some boring periods, most action comes not from encountering unexpected natural phenomena but from strange new worlds. Particularly the 'strange' people who live on them. It's not so surprising that the disappointed captain never had a 'big adventure' in a desolate corner of space running supplies to three lonely outposts. But, a lot of this is 'The Grass is Greener'. Capt. Spurlock seems outright excited about the Potemkin encountering lost tribes of Vulcan, and 'filling a cosmic pothole'. I think that I've seen the adventures she's referring to. That 'pothole' cost a LOT of lives in lost Federation and Klingon ships, and could have cost the Potemkin in filling it. Likewise, the lost Vulcans was a terrible thorny problem with no good outcome, and a grim ending. Much of that grim outcome wouldn't have necessarily happened if the Potemkin hadn't stumbled onto that adventure. Well, the Athena might have no longer been Spurlock's responsibility, but its unexpected vanishing, possibly from the universe altogether, is an altogether evident price of the Big Adventure as the ship will likely never be seen again, doomed to be recorded lost with all hands?
