I’m looking forward to both of these new shows! It’s so refreshing to see STAR TREK going in new and creative directions and not the same old regurgitated starship based series like STAR TREK LEGACY that many fans seem to want. Many fans hate Alex Kurtzman because they feel he’s destroying STAR TREK. No. Actually, it’s a section of the fan base who just want fan service, and the same unimaginative concepts over and over again.

At Vul-Con in New Orleans in 1973, Roddenberry said that one of his fears was that someone (not him, not ever) would make a "Starfleet Academy'/Star Fleet Cadets series. He received a pitch package for it in the early 1970's and the first line of dialog was "Gee Captain Kirk!" said the Cadet. It was neat to see the intro for the ST animated series played on a big screen with a 35mm projector. The colors were really deep, and existing copies don't do this justice. A few of the cells for the Vulcan episode were displayed, and DC Fontana took time to explain the episode to me.

So I guess if Academy has finished filming and a second season commissioned I assume the first season will screen in the second half of 25.

The smallest amount of excitement that I have is going to be for Star Trek Academy. I am definitely not holding my breath. I’m not trying to be negative. I just wanna be honest here.

I will watch Section 31 just because Michelle Yeoh is in it. I'm curious but it's not at the top of my list. For Academy I'm looking forward to CIC Admiral Vance being on the show. I hope he has more than a single appearance at the opening ceremonies. I don't see how the Academy can have a villain unless it's while they are doing training aboard an actual training ship. They could use the ISS Enterprise as a training vessel.

If others want to stan on Section 31, that's fine, but it's not for me because it just feels so antithetical to everything I read that Gene Roddenberry envisioned for TOS.

Academy better be good otherwise greenlighting a 2nd season is a waste, but then again it's Kurtzman and he want's to get as much greenlit before he gets the boot.

Already a second season... Hmm. Instead of simply creating the show that fans have been asking for, it seems to me that someone is attempting to promote what they want to do regardless of the reaction from viewers.
