I just finished a full Farscape rewatch a couple months ago. 22 episodes per season, and not a bad one in the lot. Maybe 3-4 in the whole series that were a little "meh" in comparison to the rest. But those long seasons left a lot of time for character based episodes that were often the best episodes, or story arcs that didn't last the whole season. Unlikely we'd ever get an *Inner Light" type episode these days.

Just got an idea about Paul Giamatti's character. They're still in the process of rebuilding the Federation, and Earth has been virtually isolated in the interim. Perhaps he leads a group similar to Terra Prime(they may even decide to reuse the name), and is opposed to Earth rejoining it and as part of their efforts sets out to sabotage and discredit Starfleet Academy. This way he doesn't have to deal with heavy makeup or prosthetics, not even little nose bumps.

I got excited when I saw the Doctor, one of my all time favorites, but with Kurtzman no way, been burned by him with all of Discovery and Picard Season 1 & 2. He nearly destroyed 7 of 9, he 100% destroyed Icheb, and nearly destroyed Captain Picard.

I didn't imagine a Star Trek animated sitcom would be good, but it is. And people really didn't think a Star Trek Nickelodeon kid's show would be good, and it really was. Then again, we all thought Picard would be a sure hit, but it got mixed reviews. So I don't write off any ideas anymore. It's all in the execution. And personal preferences, of course. The shows being so different is a good thing, and they all have their share of fans.

I had no hopes for this series when it was first announced. It initially seemed that it would focus on the character Tilly and to cram in as many LGBTQ characters as could fit on the screen at one time. First thing I noticed is I didn't recognize Mary Wisemen in the photos that is a HUGE plus, very glad to see she is not a serious regular. If the show runners decide to follow the lead of Discovery. Star Fleet Academy will be a giant sh*t show of creepy actors playing equally creepy character chasing an audience that does not care at all about Star Trek but clicks all the boxes of the mediocre Hollywood writers. Let's hope they can move beyond the predictable storylines and actually produce a Star Trek worthy series.

@KikoNYC FYI, it has nothing to do with the actors of the show, and I actually came to love Discovery, however, Kurtzman completely screwed up on the first 2 season of Picard and he knew it so much to the fact that he pulled in Matalas to save his ass on the last season. Discovery didn't get good until others started to take it over. Seriously, Kurtzman hires a bunch of "Yes" men that don't know how to write, and it sucks... always.

If anyone has ever watched some of Robert Meyer Burnett’s archived commentary, he explains beautifully what Star Trek is supposed to be, and whats wrong with it now. Im not going to tell someone what to like, but gosh, watch an episode of Strange New Worlds, then right after it watch a TNG episode like “The Inner Light” or DS9’s “Far Beyond the Stars”. Night and day is a massive understatement. This is a joke compared to that.

@@KikoNYC that's because they're afraid that this show will be too much like Star Trek discovery and a lot of fans didn't like discovery. I didn't say all I just said a lot. But I feel like they did something right with Picard season 3 but instead of building off of that they want to do another discovery style Show and that's what a lot of people is not wanting. I like discovery but I wasn't a huge fan of it. Strange new worlds I like that show a whole lot better than discovery. And I absolutely loved lower decks. I even like Star Trek Prodigy it had a pretty good story. Considering it was just a kid show originally. When Discovery came out I did like the show and I was one of the ones defended it but it never really felt like Star Trek the other shows that came after it i think were a lot better and felt more like Star Trek than Discovery. And then of course there are some fans that felt like it was too woke. To me I never really cared about that. Another thing that I hated about Discovery is that it was a prequel i'm so sick of prequels even though I like Strange New Worlds. I know I'm strange like that. But I prefer Star Trek to be in the 25th Century. Thanks to Discovery I don't care for the 29th century. But you may be right we could be a wrong and they can really pull this off and make a really good series maybe they've learned our lessons from the past shows but I doubt it.
