I’m not sure if myself or someone else already recommended this, but if you can find them, there are two audiobooks called Spock Vs Q and Spock Vs Q the seQuel… they’re hilarious stuff. They were written out as scripts that Leonard Nimoy and John DeLancie originally performed live in front of an audience at some Star Trek conventions and then later I believe re-recorded for the release of them on cassette and CD. Im sure you’d find them incredibly amusing, hearing them banter back and forth is wonderful, it’s basically logic vs chaos.

I'm so glad that when Data bursts into laughter they cut to our lovely Betazoid Counselor Troi breaking into a surprised smile, that's how we know it's real and not a programmatic action. She really sensed mirth from Data!
@DC_Prox3 ай бұрын
Regarding the conversation when Q said that compassion was among our weaknesses, and Picard said it was a strength, that's not just philosophical, it's anthropological as well. The earliest signs of our species becoming truly human aren't tools or fire pits or cave paintings, the earliest signs are broken bones that have healed. What made the first humans truly human was that a member of the tribe could have a broken leg, and their community would protect and help that person. Community is the first and most important thing that distinguishes social primates like humans from the more "savage" animals. We started to become a society the moment we started letting people be something other than a hunter or a gatherer, when the "weaker" members of a tribe are valued and allowed to thrive. The "weakness" that Q intends to exploit here is literally the secret sauce that started the chain of events which eventually culminated in the space program and eventually Starfleet. And just to put a Trek-progressive button on this, most of the time when guys are talking about manly things like hunting and camping and stuff like that, they're craving a step backwards. They're yearning for the days when everyone had to fend for themselves, so that the writers and painters die off, so that we are no longer human, but revert to nothing more than a weird-looking ape. Remember, when people talk about "toxic masculinity", most of the time they're talking about attitudes that bring us back to the jungle. Sorry, I like my smartphone, I don't want to go back to the days when anyone with a limp is a liability.
@mitchellmelkin40783 ай бұрын
@DC_Prox, While not directly related, it's interesting your argument immediately puts me in mind of Kes's imploration to the malign version of the Doctor in Darkling, one that clearly made an impression upon him, even if but briefly. I know it was merely the script she had to present, but I've always thought Lien's performance in doing so was remarkable, convincingly stating a premise (even if only over a few sentences) in a way which I can't think had been done in many parallel scenes throughout the Trek canon, at least which I can bring to mind.

Excellent reaction yes the The queue continuum took his powers away because he dared to offer powered because he dared to offer the power commander: Ryker and he refused it so the idea of him trying to give the power of the Q to a human was very upsetting to them so that his powers away But then when he did something selfless to save the enterprise, he realize he learned but the issues his power so much get back to him besides, he’s the expert on humans. The Q need to keep an eye on humans. The laugh was a genuine human laugh only temporary because he wanted to stay android do you wanna be a human so Q had to make it short-lived? thanks for the fun until next time.
