I remember watching the teaser for this with my dad. I think we saw it on The Naked Gun 2 1/2 and we were so excited for it. Sadly, he passed away a few weeks later of a heart attack. His last gift to me was The Search For Spock VHS on my birthday that he had bought for me before he passed. I saw The Undiscovered Country that December and still think it’s a good movie. Can’t wait to hear what you guys think of this movie. Ty again for what you do and keep it coming please!

@@targetaudience ty he got me The Wrath of Khan a few weeks before and made sure I got to watch it so we could go see The Undiscovered Country together. We’d watched Parts IV and V together back in 1989 so we were both looking forward to Part VI. He was a really good guy and ty again.

@@miller-joel I binged Lower Decks and Prodigy recently and they weren't too bad actually, with LD showing the universe from the perspective of a non-hero ship just doing the grind, with a humerous edge. Prodigy is great, an epilogue for old characters, best watched with kids.

I don't think I ever saw this teaser before. I remember very well seeing the full "here's the basic plot" trailer, though - twice in one day, in fact. It was September 6, 1991, the 25th anniversary of the first broadcast of _Star Trek_ (in Canada, which got it a couple days before the U.S.), and a local movie theater was doing a 12-hour marathon of all five movies plus the trailer for the sixth. I still have my ticket for that event.

2:55 You have to remember that movie trailers were starting to get very innovative when hyping a given film; especially in the late 1980’s to early 1990’s. Look up the first teaser trailer for Batman (1989), and then check out the teaser trailer for Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) to give you an idea of what I’m saying. BTW, they had to release the film a week early from December 13th to December 6th; 33 years ago today. The reason behind this move was because of two films coming out in mid-December that were poised to be box-office hits: Steven Spielberg’s Hook (1991); with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman. And Oliver Stone’s JFK (1991); with Kevin Costner and Tommy Lee Jones.

Can't wait for this reaction! I remember being so hyped for VI! Was a Trekkie kid before it came out but the first Trek movie I was of the age to see it in the theater, guess I was 10 then haha. The full movie trailer is an awesome one as well but I understand, maybe watch it after!!

Love this teaser. Still watch it every now and then if I'm feeling a bit nostalgic.

This is what Paramount has lost about Star Trek. The heart and soul.

ST VI ties in with certain events in TNG season 5. So glad you are doing thos in release date order. At some point you will be doing Deep Space Nine and TNG concurrently.
