The Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is a couple of classic games dragged down by modern problems.
Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection by Aspyr launched March 14th for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC - it features new versions of the original Star Wars Battlefront (2004) and its sequel Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) by LucasArts.
The games are inspired by the epic battles from the original Star Wars Trilogy and Star Wars Prequels. They can be played as either a third or first person shooter and feature hero characters such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Asajj Ventress, Kit Fisto (!) and many more.

I am furious about this one. I went against my better judgement and pre-ordered the game the day before since there was a $5 discount before launch. I figured "It's a PS2/Xbox game. Shouldn't be an issue." After reading all the negative press, I gave it a try. Tried to play split screen with my daughter. Not online multiplayer, local split screen. In 15 minutes the game booted us out 3 times and we were unable to complete a single match. Spent over 1 hour waiting for an online chat agent with Sony and my request for a refund was denied. I tried a space match after, and the hit detection is almost non existent. I don't want anything more to do with it might as well have flushed my money down the drain.

That's really frustrating to hear, which platform are you on? I was lucky enough not to get any crashes myself but have had the cut scene bug, some sounds issues and of course the broken MP. PlayStations refund policy once you've played a game is really strict and not great for things like this. Hopefully the game will be in better shape after a few patches!

@@UglySofaGaming Thanks this was on PS5. I last played it on Friday and like you said I am sure it runs better now. But those first impressions leave a sour taste in the mouth. I think it's the trend of broken games being released which I am really mad about, this is becoming way too common. Thank you and take care!

@@tankprohp Agreed. I was thinking of disputing the charge, but I read that there were people who did that and got blocked from PSN. I should have learned my lesson by now but I guess I didn't as this should have been a slam dunk. Oh well. Won't happen again.

Battlefront 2 classic (2005) is only $10 on steam, and it has an ultra HD mod pack. I just installed it and configured it all, and it's wayyy better than the classic collection version. I had to fiddle with some of the video settings at first, but once set it looks amazing. (Protip: disable discord overlay)

What pisses me off even more, is that the MP is _region locked;_ and the originals aren't... So NA and EU cant even join each other or see the same servers.

For those who didn’t play battlefront online back in the PS2 era, I had almost no server problems to speak of and one flag CTF could take up to two hours because of the epic back and forth fights! Every glitch available was used online but since everyone knew how to do them it was just like having an extended map 😂 my best memory is having 3 PS2s and three TVs in my parents basement where my brother and I and our best friend would play online together! I didn’t buy the collection because I already had them still on Xbox and wanted to hear reviews.. I’m sorry for all those who got cheated from the experience I had and I hope they get the game fixed soon!

@@UglySofaGamingthat sounds correct, it has been a few years since I last played but I do remember it being harder to kill people. Was for sure more skilled than instant action.
