It's a little old fashioned and usually used in fantasy works and -if memory serves me right- also what they use in the Star Wars movies.

@@nicoju5211 Can confirm, I grew up in Bavaria. Though even then it's somewhat misleading. A _lot_ of this mountainous landscape and the traditional clothes are actually located in Austria. Most of Bavaria is actually pretty flat, the mountains are only in the very south. Most of that sort of landscape is in Austria. Gotta admit though, I got a bit of a soft spot for this stereotype because that was genuinely the environment I grew up in, so it's really nostalgic to me.

I don't see how Anakin fits in with a Germany metaphor. Star Wars seems more like a metaphor for Soviet Russia. Lenin would be the Chancellor, Stalin would be Darth Vader under Lenin's wing, and the secret weapon is the atomic bomb. The Tsar Bomba is the final secret weapon like in the later series. You also have a bunch of sequels were mother Russia strikes back after losing territory, whereas Germany just became an occupied vassal of the US after WW2. Chancellor Hindenburg also hated the up and coming new German leader. The word Vader isn't even German, it's Dutch.
