As much as I like these sort of stores as they are the "Last effort" where if you tried everything else, you might get lucky here and find a full value figure. But for me the fun of the toy hunt comes from the smaller forgotten stores. The ones where you find hidden gems that you may pay peanuts for a highly sorted after figures. The hunting is the best part of this hobby/obsession of toy collecting.

I'm in the US and Star Wars from the 90s potf r $5/$15 and that's for good ones and episode 1 figures go for$2/$5 tops

Well, you have to consider the difference between USD and the Aussie dollar. Just going by a google search on the exchange rate, $20 Aussie is about $13 USD. For a brick-and-mortar store like this, that seems like a fair price for an Episode III action figure.

Oh my goodness this takes me back. I'm 54 now and have been a Star Wars fan and collector ever since the first movie came out. I still remember going into my local toy store (when we use to have toy stores) in the 70's and 80's and buying up all those figures that you've been showing. Over the last 6 years or so times have been tough for me so I've had to sell my collection several years ago , and now watching this video I regret having done so. But I must say I still enjoyed watching. Keep up the good work Dave , looking forward to many a video's in the future...Cheers..

G'day Dave in 2005 whilst still in London l entered a competition online and won the prize was 2 tickets to the premier of Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith l went with a mate and went to after party where l met all the actors past and present. Even gave Carrie Fisher a peck on the cheek all in all an amazing night was had.

These vintage figures are the best investment I ever made. Bought for $1.69 now worth over $500. BUT the most valuable to me are the figures I played with as a kid in the late 70's. I still have all of them.

23:50 Those VHS tapes as nice as they are were not the first release ones we had back in the early 80s. Those were slightly different in terms of package size that were under the CBS FOX logo and the biggest difference was the Empire Strikes Back VHS artwork, as the first Australian version got the Japanese poster, and not the "Gone with the wind" style one you see here. That poster artwork was perhaps the best one of that movie and is not easy to find in terms of your typical merchandise sold. Yes, good call. The old AUS rental versions of the 'Star Wars' trilogy on VHS (and Beta!) were very different to those shown in the video. Those shown here look like re-release sell-thru editions from perhaps the early 90s, in rather barebones uniform cases. The old original releases ('Star Wars' and 'Empire' at least) are also easy to spot as they would be labelled with the N.R.C rating (i.e. 'Not Recommended For Children'), which predated the PG rating in Australia.

Great video brings back amazing memories! I was a kid in 77 so I had my hands on the first toy line ever shipped. Can honestly say never saved one toy on its card, I even owned the first Jawa with vinyl cap! They seem so much fun just to pin on a wall back in the day...oh well!

last vhs was 1995 released , then 1997 and 2000 and 2002 for the special edition , I own all the 1990s vhs releases and the special edition … im trying to get the 1982,1984,1986,1988,1989 ones I have a few … not complete yet ...

This is nuts lmao. I'm in the states a d buy carded 1983 Rotj figures for under 50 each. Most around 30. For the price of these severely overpriced potf, I can get a vintage figure for the same price. Blows my mind.

You’re forgetting the enormous difference in currency conversion (your $50 is closer to $80 here). And the fact most of these figures have to be imported by the store from overseas. This incurrs not only currency fees, but import fees, which have to be passed onto the customer. Then on top of that, the store has to add their own profit to actually make money. Maybe “Severely overpriced” to you, where you’re lucky you can buy them, essentially at cost. To us, on the other side of the world, the price is reasonable.

G'day Dave. I lived in London for 23 years and worked in IT, every afternoon when I finished work l would pop into the Forbidden Planet store on New Oxford street and go through all the Star Wars figures. It wasn't until 2000 when l gave up on collecting them as it was costing WAY to much dosh and to many figures coming out. I walked into Kmart Mt Waverly in 2001 went to the toy section and my eyes lit up as l struck gold. On the shelf where 2 x Han and Luke 12" packs sadly one was damaged the other mint so l picked it up and walked to the till $35 only for a figure which l think had been released 10+ years earlier. Have a few statues my favourite being 7 of 9 in the skin tight silver uniform. Don't collect figures these days but if something catches my eye l'II buy it just film scores and movies nowadays.

I was a young boy when the original Star Wars movies came out (I watched "A New Hope" at the drive-in theatre in my dad's old Plymouth convertible). Growing up at that time, with that phenomenon, was an experience I wouldn't trade with any generation; past, present, or future.

I purchased a pristine condition R2D2 packaged first year Star Wars figure off eBay in 1999 for around 200.00 Kept it in a shoebox for several years. Misplaced that and a bunch of Phantom Menace Darth Mauls and Mace Windu. Never could prove it but fear that my (then wife) now ex may have sold them out from underneath me.

These guys are located only 15 mins from where I live, so have done a lot of trading with them- Aaron and Dennis always easy to work with, and I always find some vintage piece I MUST have. The turn over of stock (not talking abaout the SW's this preseneter is focusing on) is constant , and they are always buying collections. I have found some of the most obscure (still mint / carded) toys and toy lines in this shop like : MAD BALLS & POWER LORDS. Anyway - just saying don't just use this vid as a comprehensive view of what is in stock in this shop.

It's an amazing store but so overpriced. I have 50+ 90s POTF figures on card pre Episode 1 including a Boba Fett signed by the actor. Like I have doubles of Slave Leia and there's no way I would get $40 for them. I have the Leia double packs, a couple of the diorama sets, unopened Luke & Leia with speeder bikes, 3 of the larger figures on the circular card that are on a wheel and a bunch of the 12 inch Holiday collectors editions like Han with Taun Taun. And past those I have Force Unleashed Jango Fett on card. You showed a lot that I immediately recognized. None of it goes for the prices that they are asking. I'm choosing to display it all unopened and give it time. I think they will go up in value in time but due to how much is out there, not yet. Would rather hold onto them. And yes the sculpts actually were good for their time. One of the rarest sets I have is the original first edition Playmates 88 TMNT line minus Shredder all on card. Some are the Pizza Fan Club soft head variants. If they have those, they'd be in a case and they'd ask a lot for them. Also have the original 12 inch Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story in boxes. A bunch of the OG Power Rangers too. Could spend a ton of time in that store just admiring stuff from the past.

You have to have a lot of money to shop at that shop .when in go to flea markets here in Missouri. Prizes can be high .but it looks like it in Australia prices are outrageously High . Disney is discontinuing the slave Leia says they're not going to have any anymore I would buy all the slave Leia now that you can find. A person can get rich selling of their connection to Australians . I'll never sell myin but if Australians are that rich you could sell any doubles and make some money going so .

They aren’t “overcharging.” They’re simply selling them for the price they paid + a profit. Also need to factor in that most of these have likely been sourced from overseas, so import charges and taxes would likely have to be forward-charged in the prices as well.

In the future, when you edit your videos, you might want to deinterlace them to avoid those lines in picture quality when you move around.

Only interlacing in here is during sequences I have sped up. This is a result of filming at a standard framerate and speeding it up, instead of shooting it at a faster framerate. It's nothing that can be avoided, and nothing I'm worried about, considering it's literally a minute of the video.

The only place i know to get this is at bookoff. I saw star wars action fuigers and comic books and game consoles some are even old preety much its a geek store.
