For newbies it’s very important we get the stories right, so when we talk to die hard years of star wars people, we are on the same page. As fans of any genre that has a story arch that stretches over generations of history one of the most important concepts to loyal fans is the feeling of continuity. If events in a story don't line up with other points in time from the stories history or origins, then it's going to cause a conflict. Maybe James doesn't want to be creatively restricted, but that is the difficulties in writing a story in reverse. When you have the future events laid out and published it is considered "canon".

I'm okay with the way Tython was portrayed, mostly given to the fact that the world existed for thousands of years. environments change, things fade over time. tython was probably the world we know back during the old republic, but at present in the mandalorian, it's a vastly different world that has changed.

For me the excitement of going back in time is to learn the story as the original created dreamed of it. To me that is the real version. But in the end he sold it, so wasn’t it his to protect? I don’t we will ever get a product that shows what it was meant to be through Disney. And I love many Disney products. I’m a fan of clone wars for example. But who knows we might get blown away 🤷🏽‍♀️

Disney needs to capitalize on the millions of fans it already has instead of trying to cater to a small demographic they think they need. It is frustrating to see the beloved universe that Lucas created being systematically dismantled for identity politics and representation. Disney is shooting themselves in the foot and soon there will be no more Star Wars. Know the History and tell the story, not the agenda driven identity politics.

Every time they come up with a great way to course correct, or at least distance themselves from some of their mistakes they blow it with the very same mistakes they made with Star Wars in the past. Yes, by all means hand off the origins of the Jedi to someone who has no knowledge of that era. There have been great stories written regarding this era, and the begining of the Jedi order, so I don't see why they feel it needs a complete overhaul. I just wish Disney had a real cohesive plan for Star Wars, one that connects with all the ritch lore that us fans know and love. This idea of having people make Star Wars movies that are unfamiliar with Star Wars lore, or even dead set against it, has not been a winning strategy with the fans.

What's wrong with these hot shot director's? JJ Abrams was given freedom to create what he wanted, and his films sucked. Looks like Mangold is going to do the same thing. It's like, these two director's among others look down on the comic books and novels that's already made a huge imprint on Star Wars. There's so much great material they can use and expand on. But no, he's gonna create something based on his own vision, and it's probably not going to be good. It's funny to see how much Dawn of the Jedi's books have skyrocketed in value. I can't see why bc I bet Mangold won't even use any of the characters from the comics.

Getting names to the correct faces would restore some credibility in my eyes. Kylo wren should have been Darth Cidus aka Jacen Solo not Ben! Ben in the books was Ben Skywalker.

Sci ri was supposed to give a future to look forward to Heroes to get behind. Current is give up now , there is no point to watch a sequel. I just want a good film and will go and see it. I rather see dawn of the Jedi movie cancelled. Because no one wants to see the origin story of the Jedi. Maybe Patty Jenkins' star wars movie will release December 2026. Because Jon Favreau's star wars movie will release on May 2026 and the rise of Skywalker sequel movie will release on December 2025 and I really wish I was in that movie. I could be to son of Luke Skywalker. I also hope John Boyega's star wars character returns as a Jedi, Mark Hamill's character's force ghost, and pray both the Mandalorian season 4 and Jon Favreau's star wars movie will have lightsaber duels.

The Dawn of the Jedi was a fine book but a total disappointment as to the origins of the Force and the Jedi. It was just the story of a swordsman police with magic. The origin of the Force and the Jedi should be on a planet with no humans. Perhaps feature the Yoda species! Yes! There should be no English in it. Just subtitles. It should be about temptation to the dark side and sensing the universe through the Force.

It’s truly sad… Once again someone else is trying to rewrite the history of Star Wars… I’ve been a Big Fans of Star Wars since I was a kid in my early 80’s and I love what he did to the original trilogy of Star Wars but since Disney took over and they thought they could remake Star Wars to their image it’s only failed back to back!! And all I see it’s only going to fail once again… It’s like trying to rewrite a classic masterpiece of Ludwig van Beethoven if anyone even tried to do that it would be a complete failure!!
