The Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Yeah me too. I went into it expecting a McG movie as opposed to a Terminator movie. Despite his short comings story wise, I love the guys visual style and flare. As far as additions to the Terminator universe it was okay. They did exactly what I had been asking for, a snippet of the war in the future. The only thing I think that really failed with Salvation was the whole heart transplant thing, that was pretty lame.

I think 'The Last Jedi' title was carefully selected to stir up speculation amongst fans, but it will turn out to be just a vague theme, rather than giving any story information, the same way as 'Return of the Jedi' was. There wont be any scene where someone says to Luke: "You are the last Jedi!". The talk about plurals reminds me of the film: 'The Last Samurai'. Before I saw it, the title annoyed me, because I thought: "How dare they refer to Tom Cruise as the last samurai?" Then after I saw it, I relised that the title refers to the last samurai *plural* that Cruise fights alongside, and then I was okay with it. There's a lot of movie titles that make no sense, or have a different meaning until after you see it.

Yes! Dune! I loved David Lynch's movie. I saw it years ago back in the 90's and it resonated with me so much I had to read the book and I ended up reading all 6 and then the prequels written by Herbert's son. I am ALL about Dune. Now the first book is a little over 300 pages, so really not that big/thick of a book but yes IMO Lynch and the mini-series did leave out important parts. Like when Gurney Halleck finds out the kind of power Jessica had with the Voice and how she could have used it to manipulate Leto but didn't. Which squashed Gurney's mistrust of Jessica. Up until that point, he didn't like Jessica and never trusted her. After that scene he places her on a pedestal and respects the heck out of her! This was never really shown in either productions. Or the dinner when they first arrive on Arrakis and the political gaming that was going on with the people in attendance. In the book, both are powerful "scenes" and I really wish it was in any of the adaptations of the book. I loved the prequels because they explain how the war with machines started and what ended it. How the Bene Gesserit, Mentat & Spacing Guild came about and how Navigators were created and so much more. They explain how and why the Atreides & Harkonnen's become enemies, etc. Like I said, I am all about Dune and Paul Atreides was the ONE long before Luke Skywalker, John Connor or Neo. And yes, seeing a Neflix series would be awesome, if done properly...and not just a throw-away like Iron Fist.

"My copy is 794 pages BEFORE the appendix. Thanks for telling me you're a female , i really , really give a shiiiit" Internet douchebaggery at it's best. Bravo. Regardless of what you say it does not dispute the fact that mine is 510 pages. Did you ever think...probably not...that page count can depends on the publishing and font size, etc. If you go look at Amazon you will get different page counts depending on paperback, Kindle and Hardcover. Actually that's just a rhetorical question because I am sure you did not think.

I'd like to see two Vader movies that take place somewhere between episode 3 and 4 . The first movie would be about Darth Vader hunting down Jedi who escaped order 66. It would be from the perspective of the hunted Jedi and it would depict Vader as a terrifying, undefeatable, menacing monstrous juggernaut of the dark side. We the audience would feel like we were with the surviving Jedi and feel a sense of awe and dread as Vader carries out his massacre. The next film I'd like to see would be a sequel to aforementioned film that would open exactly as the previous film ends, only it would shift to Vader's perspective as he succeeds in mercilessly annihilating the last few remaining Jedi on the planet where it takes place. Upon departing that planet to report to the Emperor, Vader's ship crashes on a deadly wasteland planet of severe weather fluctuation and that is inhabited by hordes of gangs of deadly warriors, zombies, killer droids, ferocious predatory aliens. Upon crashing, Vader's squad is attacked and in a bloodbath only Vader survives. The rest of the film is a continuous fast paced film of constant combat and survival against incredible odds against horrific antagonists and situations going from one impossible predicament to the next without break. It would showcase a broad scope of Vader strengths and skills including prowess, strength, force skills, and intelligence. The battles would be very challenging so that it would be interesting and would also show Vader's vulnerabilities so that as opposed to the previous film where he was the invincible killer, now he is not sure (nor is the audience) if he can survive as he is pushed to the absolute limit. For this film I'd like to see elements of "The Revenant","Predator","Aliens","Mad Max","Walking Dead" and "Evil Dead" combined so that like Ash in "Evil Dead" Vader is utterly squeezed to the breaking point.

The only thing Cameron should do with Terminator 3 (Yeah, I said it), is close the time loop. Have the story take place in the future and show humanity winning the war, with the last scene being Skynet sending Arnold back (the only time we see him in the movie), and adult John Conner sending Reese back to intercept (either get an actor that looks like a young Michael Beihn, or get Beihn back for a quick scene and use CGI to de-age him). If there's any human looking Terminators, none should be Arnold (just like the flashback in the First Terminator movie). But most importantly, I want the tone and style of the film to be like Terminator 1. Dark, gritty, and very low budget looking. And of course, bring Brad Fiedel back to do the score, AND have him ONLY use the same keyboards he used to score the first movie.

What I want out of the Han Solo movie is for them to show that Han is lying about a lot of the things he says in the original film. A lot of people didn't get the joke of Han Solo. He's supposed to be the cool older guy in the 70s who bought a van with his own money and thinks it's amazing when it's really a beat up junker. It's part of the car culture of the 50s-70s. Somewhere along the line, people started taking Han at face value that the Falcon really WAS an amazing ship and that he really WAS an amazing pilot as opposed to him just being a braggart. I guess the reference kind of lost it's meaning as younger and younger people started watching Star Wars. We don't live in that same culture where a kid works all summer to buy a car and thinks it's the best thing in the world when everyone else sees it as a hunk of junk. But that is actually a really common joke in television shows from that era.

It isn't that Han thinks the Falcon is amazing and it's really a junker, it's that everyone thinks it's a piece of shit but it's really a hot rod. That comes straight from SoCal car culture, where some dude might have some janky looking old car with primer paint, but it could blow your doors off

There is a 4 hour cut of the Lynch Dune that is the bomb, if you dig Dune you've gotta check it out, it pisses down on the sci fi channels garbage from the mountain heights. The fatman review is so great for stuff like Dune nostalgia and shit, I used to love gaming and listening to the smodcast but whatever their new player has been is just frustration sauce so much so that I haven't listened to it in almost a year. I'm glad this you tube channel is so regular, and I'm digging Greg Proops' and Doug Stanhope's podcasts where before all I ever listened to was smodco shows. In regards to The Last Jedi, yes it's Luke. I think the act of Rey handing Luke his lightsaber does not necessarily mean what everyone thinks, which is "train me", but rather asking him to "come home" after the recent events of the death of Han and the tragedy of the republic being wiped out. Also, so much of the Force Awakens dialogue has been over looked. Ultimately Luke will NOT train Rey, however Maz Kanata WILL. Remember the line she used: "I am no Jedi, but I KNOW the FORCE".

Episode 9 - After killing Luke's last apprentice ( Rey ), Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker have an epic battle. Luke is knocked out for a moment but Kylo is so messed up from Luke's attacks that he decides to run away. He limps as fast as he can down the hall ways dripping sweat and blood as he stumbles to his escape. Turns a corner and smacks straight into the wooly wall called Chewbacca. Chewbacca bears his teeth and roars as he grasps Kylo by the shoulders, lifts Kylo up off the ground and tears both of his arms off as the rest of Kylo's body dops to the ground. THE END :D

You know, I loved The Force Awakens when it came out, and I think I have really fallen for the new characters, too. But every time I watch it, now, I can't stop thinking about what a rehash of A New Hope it is. I mean, it doesn't ruin my appreciation for it, I think I'm just really eager to see them in something new.

reflectionist Yes I see it as a way to get all the new generation of fans caught up with what starwars is and grab the old ones attention too. Hopefully we can now get some new never before seen starwars film ideas like rogue one.

Kevin, please direct the Bat. You have experience with Ben, you respect and know the world and mythos, you have the skills, you have every reason to do this. Please in all seriousness make the attempt. I swear I will make a petition and send it out on fb and anywhere I can. this is not a joke. No one I know loves this mythos more than you.

Andrew Ferrer have you seen a Kevin Smith movie? he doesn't have anything remotely even close to the skills to direct a $200 million batman movie, he even admits it himself. It needs someone with real vision as well as an understanding of the characters to make it work.

RighteousBrother have you seen when he does a project justice that he's passionate about? red state? clerks? his episodes on flash and supergirl? even when it's someone else's material, he's a master of the word ART in this field. he is the only one that can do it justice so no. I respectfully disagree sir.

Andrew Ferrer of course I've seen Clerks (and that would not mark him out as a good director for Batman) not seen Red State. I've seen his Flash episode although by all accounts it's such a well oiled machine he didn't have to do much. he didn't even yell 'Action' not seen his Supergirl yet. He often talks about his directing on in Hollywood Babble On. I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you. But hey, you seem alright.

I think Last Jedi probably means Luke. As in Luke won't train her to be a Jedi because the Jedi philosophies have failed and something new needs to take it's place. They touch on it with the whole 'why didn't Yoda train the twins at the end of Revenge of the Sith' thing. I believe it was Yoda who came to the conclusion that grabbing up and training anyone who had a connection with the Force had failed the Jedi, and the Jedi being aligned with the Republic instead of the galaxy as a whole was wrong, so Luke and Leia had to choose whether they wanted to take on the path of the Jedi.

After Terminator: Geneshit... I realized we've been wrong about Terminator all the time. Everyone assumes Arnold is the key ingredient. Arnold made two great Terminator films, one bad one, and one that was a steaming pile of celluloid. He skipped Salvation as he was busy running the state of Kawleefornyuh Arnold is not what makes a Terminator film great. In fact, think about it from an acting perspective... it's an emotionless robot. Not a hard role if you look the part. The key to Terminator is JAMES CAMERON. James Cameron = Good Terminator Movie. Not Arnold. Cameron steering Miller gives me reason to hope.... As for these people being interviewed by Smith... hey, I don't actually know the guy personally... but based on these shows, his 'stand up', his films, his commentary in those films, and the fact that he was just some guy like me that sold his comic collection, ran up some credit cards and made a movie (that turned into a career)... point is; Kevin exudes a 'one of us' kinda vibe. I can't imagine he'd be hard to get along with, so I do bet people walked in, saw him, relaxed, and walked out thinking 'great interview'. He's an easy going movie geek that loves film. Anyone think it's a coincidence how many of the actors he's worked with are happy to come back to a new film? Just have a hard time imagining a 'difficult to get along with' vibe from Mr. Smith. And in a related note... when he reveals his taste... loving Dune, hating Terminator: Geneshit... every time he talks about a movie, it seems we have the same taste. That probably explains why I enjoyed Tusk..... And as for Dune... I loved the books... but still prefer the Lynch version. Then again, I love Lynch flicks (and not everyone does). Kevin should dig into the nightmare it was for Lynch if he doesn't know the story... the flaws in that film (and there are flaws) have nothing to do with Lynch, and everything to do with studio interference... he didn't even have final edit of the picture. Basically... it's the story of Mallrats on a larger stage... I figure Kev would have some sympathy for Lynch if he knew that story

Black Manta better wear the mask. When they make these comic book movies but change up the villains, it makes them extra boring, especially when they didn't have much personality to begin with. That's why Im a little worried about Spiderman: Homecoming. We got the fan service with the Spidey-Ditko design, but meanwhile Vulture is in a mech suit and Shocker isn't even in the tights? If superhero movies want to get away with making boring villains, they should at least make them look the same
