I will echo the other comments here, and definitely recommend you cover AOTR - Awakening of the Rebellion, Set during the entire GCW, early - late, heavily reworks ground battles and space battles. Also, I can recommend Fall of the Republic, the sister mod to Thrawn's revenge, which is still very much in development, but is still impressive

I used to play the crap outta EaW and FoC. I remember watching all the videos of the game before it came out.... Which had to be in 480p lol. I used to sit on the onlime chat room all day as well, it was hilarious what people would randomly talk about. I got the games on steam but haven't played them much, I should give them a chance again

I would love if you could review the Aweakening of the Rebellion mod. It is very cool and the ai is very smart, to the point where it takes advantages form the mistakes of the player, and they actually made ground battles enjoyable. Can you believe that?

I will tell you one mod that needs to be made: Warhammer 40:000 Imperium At War. Next Up will be all the different games that have Battlestar Galatica mods. No one had to say the video has to focus on one game. Also my favorite is Awakening of the Rebellion but I am certain that everyone already knows about that mod.

Everyone is leaving out the _Absolute Chaos_ mod. Understandable because it has a lot of crashing issues, but it is without a doubt my absolute favorite mod for EaW. It puts all the others to shame. 3 factions, more land and space units then I'll ever get to play, a campaign map with 250 canon Star Wars planets, not to mention the map itself feels organic and natural, not something put together. The developer for it is currently remaking the Mod from scratch to finely fix the crashing issues, so that's good news. But even so, it deserves to be on the Best Mods lists. Its absolutely spectacular.

You can check mods of all mods. Absolute corruption 2.4 . However it was discontinued long time ago, yet even today mods fail in sheer scope and content(units) it provides. And best yet. On steam Absolute Chaos is the continuation of said mod. So check that one. For me personally best mod for Empire at Wars.

FOC Alliance is missing. Yes it's unbalanced af and has loads of crashes, but IT'S HUGE. It has everything, every unit (both ground and space) you can think of, it has every Era of Star Wars. (from Clone Wars to legacy) and it even has an actual super long campaign you can play through.

How do people choose how to deploy their fleet when starting a space battle? I'm currently playing Vanilla Star Wars Empire at War and it's super annoying how I can't drop my fleet out of hyperspace in formation. Does anyone know a mod for this or if I'm missing something in the vanilla game?

Its a shame the Babylon 5 mod never get the love it needed. A nice thing about the TR devs they have found a lot of work around's for empire at war and shared them with other mod teams.

With all the cross-over mods I'm half surprised not to hear about the messy jumble of combined mods that is 'Sci-fi at war' which basically combines all the aforementioned crossovers so you got stargate fighting battlestar galictica while star trek beams on board a star destroyer and halo ships warp in. It was the wild west of mods it felt like, wouldn't surprise me if it was just someone stealing assets from other mods and mashing them together, but it was fun/silly for a skirmish or two steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1127709864 Lest I forget, enjoyed the video! The UGC CE mod is what empire at war should have been at launch. It is basically the base game, but unit models have been rescaled so ground vehicles aswell as ships now have more realistic sizes. Additional units have been unlocked, like the base game Venator and AT-AP, and the game has been rebalanced. The main part of the mod is the new massive galactic conquest map, which adds many new planets with new unique custom made ground maps.

#1 Republic at war starts off kind of cool, but ends up being unbelievably tedious and unfun, had to quit my playthrough a couple years ago for me Fall of the Republic is better. #2 Remake is awesome, though it needs modded ground combat and the dev is.. not my favorite person in the world, i'll leave it at that. #3 Never played this one, hear it was good. #4 TR is my second favorite, and one of the definite ways to play EaW #5 Love Stargate, but I'm not really a "skirmish" kind of guy these days, so hopefully their working on ground and GC #6 Mass Effect isn't really my thing. #7 Same as #6 AOTR not being on this list is CRIMINAL, you're under arrest!
