25:19 That may not be true. The Sith survived in secret because of the "rule of two" where only a master and apprentice exist at a time. The twisted way the rule was maintained is that the apprentice gets strong (or cunning) enough to murder their master and take their own student. At least one Sith that I'm aware of was even proud to have been killed. That said, I've heard sources say that Palpatine was arrogant enough to decide the cycle would end with him, though. The last half of the movie, you see Anakin fall in a way that is truly tragic. He falls to all of his old insecurities and fears. Sidious basically consumes him and pushes all hope out of him. He is the child again, seeing a future where the person he loves most die again. He's never learned how to love without fear, and when that fear is pushed as far as it will go, it becomes possessive and clinging. Instead of listening to what actually will save her, he focuses too much on his power being enough. That he alone can fix everything that's wrong.

There are always 2, a master and an apprentice. Him being surprised is of the Chancellor being the master, not him being a Sith. If you listen to the dialogue again you will notice how Windu puts emphasis on Lord as in he was not expecting Palpatine to be the master. With that said, Windu acted against Palpatine without counseling the other masters, acting on his own emotions against the Chancellor, which is the reaction Palpatine fully expected from Windu. It was the last chess move he needed to turn the Republic into the first Galactic Empire, as he's able to manipulate the public into thinking the Jedi have tried to usurp the Chancellor's powers as their own. Anyway, he wasn't surprised about Palpatine being a Sith, rather him being a Sith Lord, which is considerably more dangerous.

The next one to watch, timeline-wise, would be the 6-episode series Obi-Wan Kenobi. The story takes place 8 [EDIT 10] years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. Then, after that would be the movie Rogue One, which takes place right before the events of A New Hope.

One of the many reasons I think newbies should start with Episode 1 and not Episode 4 is because when you watch them in release order, as opposed to episode order (the way Lucas intends for them to be watched), you end up thinking things like "Did R2D2 suddenly get new powers?" No, R2 didn't get new powers. What happened is nobody ever reloads R2 throughout the series. R2 can fly in Attack of the Clones, but he uses up the last of his jet fuel in this movie when he dumps it on the battle droids. If you watch them in episode order, then you see R2 slowly degrading and nobody maintaining him properly throughout the series. It's like how some fanboys complain that Chewbacca showing up in this movie is "fan service" and "doesn't make sense." But if you watch them in order, and don't come in with preconcieved notions, then what happens is you see a young Chewbacca fighting alongside the Jedi, and then in the next movie you see that Chewbacca -- who knows and trusts Jedis, because he fought alongside them -- is the one who takes Obi-Wan to meet Han Solo.

Thank you! I saw the originals in the theaters and was a massive fan. Then I saw the prequels and loved them as well. I defended them at every turn. Anakin's story is so powerful and sad when watched in order and his redemption in ROTJ is awesome. Everyone knows the "I am your father" line by now and I can assure you that coming out of the theater after watching TESB as a 5 year old, all I could think and talk about was what's going to happen to Han Solo and not the "revelation."

Rocket thrusters were twin devices that allowed R2 series astromech droids to fly through the air. R2-D2 was equipped with such boosters, and he put them to good use throughout the Clone Wars. However, by the time of the Galactic Civil War, R2-D2's boosters had not worked in ages, and his warranty was long expired, having been damaged at some point after the Clone Wars.

Still one of my best favourite star wars movie . I mean i know it wasn't considered a great job in terms of filmmaking , but my decision is clouded by a fan and star wars geek /Nerd from the comics . So this was for me the most important and probably so sad and emotional nostalgic movie . This movie can be said he journey of Anakin Skywalker From THE CHOSEN ONE to THE DARK SIDE. I was having mixed emotions, Anakin and Padme dieing but birth of the most Legendary cold badass villian of all times Vader . Loved your reaction . Btw suggestion React to **"Obi wan Kenobi The series"** which premiered just before few weeks so that you can have a proper chronological order to all the hidden stories in between the movies .

Revenge Of The Sith....this movie is my absolute favorite out of the prequels, for many reasons. The biggest is that big 2 for the price of 1 climactic lightsaber duel montage. Seeing Yoda clash with Emperor Palpatine on Coruscant at the same time Anakin and Obi-Wan are fighting on Mustafar is emotional and awesome. I love the way the music ties the two duels together, on top of the killer visual effects, sound effects, fight choreography and dialogue? They all make it a grand feast for the eyes and ears.

The scene where the chancellor tells Anacin how Darth Plagueis discovered how to manipulate midi-chlorians to create life then taught his apprentice everything he knows. The chancellor was telling Anacin that he is basically his father. If you remember from episode 1 Anacins mother said there was no father. She became pregnant, carried the baby and gave birth. Also, at the end of Ep 3 they said to wipe 3po's drives but not R2's which is why i Ep$ R2 said his old master was Obi-wan Kenobi but 3Po did not know who he was.

31:07: "It's kind of like. . . that was a Jedi funeral. . . and Anakin died." WOW! I have read and watched all kinds of analyses and deep thoughts and Fridge Brilliances about these movies, and I have NEVER heard it put that way, or thought of it that way myself until now! But that's extremely on-the-nose symbolism of the type Star Wars is famous for! Literally and metaphorically, Anakin burned, and all that was left was Darth Vader. The injuries required the famous suit and Vader Breath for Darth Vader to survive, and the trauma of it all cemented Anakin as Darth Vader, until Luke was able to breathe life back into the smoldering embers of Anakin Skywalker once again. LOVE THIS! 32:13: "You did all of this for her, and she's dead." No, he killed her. There's a lot of headscratching about "she's lost the will to live," to the point a semi-canon explanation is the medical droids were incompetent at human biology and literally anywhere else would have been a better place to take her. But mental state really can have a profound effect on how we recover from illness and injury, and Padme had been Force-Choked, then left to inhale (with what airway she still had usable) whatever dust, ash, and noxious fumes were in the atmosphere of that volcano planet, then went into labor, which can already be *extremely* stressful on the body. And all of this the result of a chain of events kicked off by Anakin having dreams of Padme dying in childbirth. In taking steps to prevent his vision, Anakin brought it to pass. Because the Dark Side does not create, or build, or heal, or preserve. It destroys, because that's what it is.

From here, definitely go straight into the Obi-Wan series... it's basically episode 3.5 in many ways. And keep the tissues around for the end. This movie is so good but also so sad. Order 66 is always hard to watch, and it's been shown from different angles many times now in other series and games and it never gets easier. The Clone Wars show does a great job of really humanizing the clones and giving them all unique characteristics and personalities and showing their relationships with the Jedi, and then explaining exactly why they turn and how that happened. The finale of that series is a 4 part arc that basically plays as a movie that takes place alongside Episode III. A couple of things to note regarding Palpatine: someone else already commented on this but when he told the story of Darth Plagueis, he was telling the story of his own master that he killed. He said that he had the power to manipulate the midichlorians to create life. There's a comic that shows that Palpatine manipulated the midichlorians to create Anakin, so in effect he is Anakin's father. I don't keep up with the comics that much and from what I've seen that may or may not be solid canon, but it's at least implied that it could be true. Also, there is a great fan theory that when Vader is being put in the suit and Padme is giving birth, that Palpatine was using the force to drain Padme's life force to keep Vader alive. There's not really anything official on that, but given his character it's definitely believable.
@kagey-bee63162 жыл бұрын
Well it IS solid canon. If you watch Ep.III with George Lucas` and Rick McCallum`s commentaries, you hear this truth about Anankin`s birth during the opera scene. It was G-canon even before the comic.

@@kagey-bee6316 OK, thanks. I seem to remember seeing something that suggested it was retconned somewhere in a book or comic but like I said I don't keep up with the books and comics as much and I can't remember where I saw that.

Some say Darth Sidious was already disfigured from using so much dark side magic and he was using Sith alchemy to disguise his true visage before the lightning breaks his illusory spell. As a master manipulator, Palpatine then uses his true face to bring Anakin under his sway and ensure his stories about the Jedi are considered gospel within Senate circles.

1:10 the Obi-Wan dismemberments continue here, here 13:35 and here 30:21. 3:24 “Dewit!” 12:56 he said the thing 😂 and the rule is, any time someone greets you with “hello there” you MUST respond with “General Kenobi”. 20:01 “would you like a side of fries with that” 😂 26:21 and now begins the best lightsaber duel in the entire Star Wars saga… Hayden Christiansen and Ewan McGregor trained for days to get the choreography down to a T. 31:07 omg! The many times I’ve seen this, I never thought about that, but you’re right, this is the moment Anakin ceases to be and he is fully consumed by the Dark Side and becomes Vader. 32:23 of course it is… the theory is that Palpatine used the force and syphoned Padme’s lifeforce to keep Vader alive, that’s why she dies at about the same time Vader takes his first breath inside the mask. Also, it’s very faint but as the mask lowers onto his face, Vader says “help me, Padme”. 32:48 the little details - look at Obi-Wan’s clothes, the burns and charring. I wouldn’t have given a second thought if they weren’t, but again it’s those little details that make it that much better. 33:40 very perceptive again Addie. Also, the camera zooms in on the necklace that Anakin made for Padme back when they first met in Ep.I.

One little known fact is that Palpatine actually uses the Force to transfer the life force from Padme to Anakin in order to keep Anakin alive long enough for surgery. That is part of the life saving power he was talking about that he learned from his Master, Darth Plagueis. Instead of using it to save Padme he used it to kill her while saving Anakin in true Sith style. Also, the movie "Rogue One" takes place right before A New Hope. It is about the retrieving of the plans to the Death Star, and the opening scene for A New Hope takes place immediately after if not during the last part of Rogue One.
