Fun fact, this isn't mentioned in the subtitles, but according to the official novel, when Jabba reveals himself behind the curtain after Han has been freed from the Carbonite, he apparently says, "Your taste in companions has improved, Solo."

Up until he found out, Luke wanted to emulate his father. And in the end it was this admiration that kept Luke from being turned. It is also thought that Vader stopped Luke from striking the Emperor not to save the Emperor's life, but to stop Luke from turning.

@@Christobanistan the Emperor never sensed Luke was even with the group. "My son is with them. I have felt it." "Strange that I have not." Or something like that. It's pretty clear Vader is having conflicting thoughts by this point so either he is good at masking it or the Emperor has grown arrogant.

Also saying "it is too late for me son" heavily states that it's not too late for Luke and that he can still save himself.

@@Christobanistan He didn't detect that Vader was turning back to the "light" side, or that he was going to throw him into the reactor (or whatever that was). Just as Yoda would say, "Cloudy, the future is", indicating that they can't see everything. Even Obi Wan told Luke, "Bury your feelings", also indicating that the emperor and Jedi can only sense things, and only things and feelings that are "on the surface" ... that it IS possible to hide things you don't want known.

@@StevesFunhouse I don't know. I'm not a huge SW fan, but wasn't the dark side simply clouding the truth from the Jedi Counsel? As in, the dark side can see things just fine, but they have a way of tricking the good guys since they are able to control information flow. In spisode 8, wasn't Snoke able to read his apprentice's every thought (conveniently excluding the one that 'his enemy' was' was Snoke himself, not the chick)? That really seems to me (as a layman mind you) like Palpatine should have had at least the same insight into Darth Vader's mind...

As a kid growing up, reading the episode title and watching the movie…it never occurred to me the true nature of whom the film title was talking about…I always thought it was Luke…

1. Best guess is that Han was Jabba's "trophy" for about a year and a half before the rescue. 2. Vader discovered Leia as Luke's sister because he could feel it in Luke. Luke didn't know that until just before then. 3. Luke's light saber is green because he lost his old one along with his hand so they decided to make it green because it worked better in the desert background landscape. 4. Everybody is freaking out because Luke and Leia kissed mostly because she was trying to piss off Han. They didn't know they are related. 5. The "I love you. I know" was written into the script to get Leia the shot to say it to Han. 6. This was Warrick Davis'/Lead Ewok first acting gig. He was only 13. Willow is his lead with Val Kilmer and worth a first time/share.😎 7. Obvious CGI/start/stop with the race through the forest. Nobody in their right mind would go that fast. 8. A little corn. Hans' reaction to Leia telling him Luke is her brother. 9. Jedi is plural. With Luke and Leia leading the way they can reestablish the Jedi back into the galaxy. 10. Ford wanted Han to die in this episode. 11. This is the best of the original 6 George Lucas Star Wars. After this he sold it to Disney and everything changed. Sadly

Lia I think that I informed Ellie of Wicket the Ewok who befriends Leia. Wicket was played by then 11 years old kid actor named Warwick Davis. There was another little person actor named Kenny Baker supposed to be Wicket, but Kenny gotten ill. Kenny operates R2-D2 too. Davis has been involved with Star Wars Franchise within 40 years in different roles too. Davis played Willow in another movie. Many years later, Davis is returning as Willow in a new series coming out on Disney+. I have a suggestion: have you, Ellie, and Mich see and react to the movie, Willow 1st before the series.

It has been great watching your reactions, it was like what I saw in the theaters when the first three movies came out. Oh so you know any CG effects you have seen in all the movies were added years later by Lucas, only the hologram of the emperor and of Luke and Obiwan are original. These movies were done with practical effects and models.

I've read that some very early copies of the original Star Wars 1977 are on VHS. I don't know if they were ever sold to the public or were Academy Award screeners, meant for broadcast only etc. Copies are "traded", shall we say. Not sure about the others in the original trilogy. None are available in full length (legally) online obviously. A diehard Star Wars fan probably has more info.
