It was sh1t writing and poor direction that messed up those sequel films -- not Daisy Ridley. Further adventures of Rey _could_ be good. It entirely depends on writing and getting a director with some vision.

I don’t like Kennedy at all, but I’m going to give Rey a chance. I wish Mark Hammil had something to do with directing, writing or as a major consultant on the film. Lucas would probably be very accepting of Mark’s involvement. Just get Kennedy out of the project!! I do think that people here should stop bringing our politics into these movies. No one called Leia “woke” and she was a fantastic character. So, can we just stop with this “woke” nonsense and if you no longer are a Star Wars fan stop complaining and don’t listen anymore. I’ve been following Star Wars since 1977. Yes I am old as I was 22 when Star Wars came out and female too. I am still a loyal Star Wars fan. I don’t think Disney has done Star Wars any favors and I do think George Lucas would have done a much better job. I’m sure he would have used another female character as a Jedi since both male and female characters can use the Force. Keep our politics out of Star Wars, Star Wars movies have their own political stories to tell. I love the fantasy of it all. It’s a way to escape to another dimension instead of my own.

I pray Finn returns as a Jedi, I hope to see the force ghosts of Luke, Anakin, Obi wan, and Yoda, I really hope Rey Skywalker faces a female villain, and I rather see Gungi in the new Jedi order movie other than worthless Grogu, and I really wish I was in that movie. I could be the son of Luke Skywalker. And I also hope and pray that movie will release December 2025.

The sad thing about this is that they made it too easy for Ray to become a Jedi! Disney killed Star Wars by making it so woke that it don't even have a story I have tried to watch 7, 8, 9 in order and they don't even line up. Ray beat Kylo Ren like he never had training as a Jedi and then in the rise of Skywalker Kylo beats her around like she didn't beat him the story makes no sense at all why make another disaster

I agree mostly but the problem was not Daisy Ridley as some like to say. The problem was the writing they used was disjointed and they continuity problems you identified was indicative of a lack of clear conception and consistent effort to create a quality product at the director level and the producer level. They just wanted to milk the money cow. We don't know if the writers work was severely edited so I don't necessarily blame them but it would be insanely unfair and cognitively deficient to blame the actors for things beyond their control. I cannot think of any actors that could have made a big enough difference to overcome the structural problems created by Kennedy.

The problem was the writing and inconsistency in story line , lack of character development, break downs in continuity and a noticeable lack of concern about the quality of their product and more attention paid to making a statement about social issues that reflect those of Kennedy or at least the issues she wants to espouse which she thinks will serve her personally in some way.

As s starwars fan, I cannot see myself watching it, as Disney has gone too woke ruining everything they do lately and not listening to fans. So I don't have much hope for anything coming out of Disney. Unless they can some good writers that are not woke.

Sounds like absolute dog$hit. Jam every bad character Disney created & every great character Disney $hit on & FAIL again. Episodes 7, 8, 9, Solo, Ahsoka, Obi Wan Kenobi and the book of Boba Fett are absolute trash and honestly Mandalorian has quickly gone to hell. All of these need to be made non cannon ASAP. Star Wars is the Skywalker's story, from the Jedi point of view. The Jedi are a deep part of the lore of the universe. With that said YES there is much more out there other than the Skywalker's and it needs to be told. But keeping these "films" cannon destroys Luke because he became a loser, quitter, and abandoned everything and everyone because Disney wanted to do a reboot and lack storytelling, history and knowledge of the franchise. So keeping these poor "films" alive just continues to give Disney permission to give a half assed attempt to throw anything together stamp it Star Wars so they can collect their payday. Enter Time travel/multiverse. The Disney slavers & the woke crew at Lucas film lack any skill or imagination at story telling. Who thinks The Last Jedi or any of the others I mentioned is going to hold up in 40 years as Lucas's films have done? As I said make the above "films" non cannon bring back the Expanded Universe. Start with the story Darth Maul Shadow Hunter, Do a Darth Bane trilogy. Let’s get Dark Lord of the Sith the Rise of Darth Vader in theaters. Recast Luke, Leia, Han ( Sebastian Stan, Anthony Ingruber, Billie Lourd) to do the Thrawn Trilogy FOR STARTERS! The books are written! LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! FILM IT!!! Lucas film, KK, JJ, Johnson have NO IDEA what Star Wars is.

Kathleen Kennedy through ultimately Disney is controlled by institutional investors like Black Rock who all worship the woke propaganda of the Left in the form of DEI. Meaning woke messaging is more important than the story and the Star Wars legacy - including the expanded universe novels pre-2012. That is why KK essentially ignores everything and everyone pre-2012. Including George Lucas himself. All the creative choices of Kathleen Kennedy has been about herself - through self-insert - Rey Skywalker - and meeting the DEI requirements and ideology. That is why we as the 'real' Star Wars fans cannot have nice things. Note: a Star Wars fan is defined as an individual who has personally watched/experienced the classic version of the original Star Wars trilogy. That is my personal definition of a "Star Wars fan. Thus if an individual chooses to ignore Episodes I-VI. Yes, I believe the Prequels are required too. Then said individual cannot honestly claim to be a fan.

Horrible! The last so called trilogy was pathetic!! It was not Star Wars! As fiction films, they were ok… but they were NOT Star Wars!! On top of that, they way Disney, and the cast shit all over the fans, and said we weren’t important… fuck them, and whatever story they come up with, they ruined it!! I love a lot of the shows, and the movies for Star Wars, but not the trilogy! They ruined it!! J.J. Abrams started something, that could have worked, maybe… but when he gave it to “ruin” Johnson, that was the end!! The true Star Wars trilogy truly ended at the end of Return of the Jedi!!
