I disagree i think that Disney should have found something better than her being Palpatines granddaughter. But Obi wan had an extremely low midiclorian count and only became a master because of years of dedication but still wouldn’t be a match for Palpatine so it wouldn’t make sense if obi-wans granddaughter who didn’t spend half as much time as obi wan training would be able to defeat an extremely powerful 19000 midiclorian sith lord

It would be a cool call back to the Jedi introduced in the First episode of Star Wars, and probably change Palpatine's survival into a force ghost who attempts to possess Ben until Rey saved him or something to that extent.

But more than anything i think that Plagueis should have been the main antagonist like he could have been a sith ghost and learn how to create life for himself and made a new body (snoke) thats not too far fetched because plaguies has been mentioned in the films so casual viewers would understand who he was.

Maybe the reason it took so long for R2 to come online, which I still love this idea, is that when BB-8 found R2 in the movie, R2 did wake up....but had to go through like....30 years of updates before finally being able to wake up.
