HarrisTheHeckler I think I’ve watched this trailer over a hundred times just coming back to it and the others now and then and from Satele’s arrival to the end still gives me some chills. These are just so great! And imo some of if not the best lightsaber combat in the IP

This is one of my favorite trailers. This taking place at least 1,000 years before the Clone War, the Republic's troops were actually trained to fight sith because they were more common. But the action, the scale of the battle, it's amazing.

The game is set a few thousand years before the the time period in the movies, when the galaxy was sort of split between the Republic + Jedi and the territories held by various incarnations of the Sith Empire. The MMO is set around 3600 years before the battle of Yavin (Episode IV), and about 300 years after the setting in Knights of the Old Republic (another game). The first Sith Empire, if I'm not mistaken, was formed a bit more than 5000 years BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) by the Dark Jedi who were exiled from the Republic after their defeat around 7000 BBY and one of the earliest conflicts between the Republic and the Sith Empire was the Great Hyperspace War.

I laughed at Flying Jet Person. She's one of the most badass character in the entire SW universe, she was so popular that they brought her family in the canon universe. Ask any Old Republic fan, they will say Shae Vizla is bae.

Grandmaster Satele Shan,the 3rd strongest ever grandmaster in all of Star Wars, this one and Luke Skywalker have so far been the only ones who have managed to make force energy visible which is truly a sign of immense strength,it's simply incredible to see that Satele and Darth Malgus are very evenly matched,I even found it absolutely astonishing that Satele Shan was capable of holding the blade of a lightsaber and if that's not an impressive display of tutaminis,I don't know what is 👏

Talk about a powerful use of Tutaminis, the energy absorption ability she used to absorb the lightsaber blade. The same ability Yoda used to absorb Dooku's lightning or that Luke would (in the EU) use to absorb the blaster bolts from an AT-AT.

Satele Shan has to have one of, if not, the strongest ability when it comes to tutaminis. In canon, we’ve only seen people absorb blaster bolts & Yoda block force lightning. But to block a lightsaber? That’s insane.

A bit of extra story; the Sith Lord in this short, Darth Malgus, after being buried alive under that mountain, dragged himself up, capably fought two Jedi Knights and _bested them._ This is *before* he received the cybernetic enhancements you see him with in the game proper and in the "Deceived" Trailer. (Yes, the main Sith Lord with the mask is Malgus).

Ik this comment is a year late but the reason the trooper wasn't fried alive by Malgus's lightning is because he had a shield generator on his armor. The shield absorbed the lightning and that's why Malgus force threw him cause Lightning didn't cut it. That's also why the trooper survives the grenade blast.

Gaxelle, the flying woman is Darth Maligus (Bald Grumpy Dudes) Wife. Who he murdered. The extra badass trooper is Shen's (Extremely Badass Lady Jedi) hubby & father of her child. The Extremely Badass Lady Jedi became the Grand Master of the Jedi.

Oh, so you watched this one before the other one, just as intended. this one comes before "Deceived" in the timeline :) You see, after this defeat at the hands of Satele Shan, Darth Malgus goes to Coruscant and sacks the Jedi temple there, that is the Deceived trailer. there is one before this one as well, its called "Return". I think I remember them getting released in reverse order, Deceived came out first and Return last.

Not many people know this but it's stated that the jedi (Satele Shan) used the force to block the explosion from killing the soldier (Jace malcom) most people assume it was a stun grenade but it was a normal one.

That has never been stated anywhere. Satele had nothing to do with Jace surviving. He was grievously wounded from the explosion just as Darth Malgus was. Jace Malcom was an elite soldier, a captain of Havoc Squad, and, eventually, the Supreme Commander of the Galactic Republic. His survival was due to his substantial training, willpower, and an extreme amount of luck.

They really made Armor tough in the old republic! Stormtroopers could take lessons from these guys (besides learning how to aim). One guy tackled 2 Sith, took Force Lightning and still kept trying to charge Malgus, Tackled Malgus and then took a grenade point blank! What a boss!
