Unpopular opinion: I like the trailer _more_ with the music removed. Especially since we've already heard the themes in the original trailer, the silence gives me a greater "this is gonna be huge and important" feeling. The only thing I would fix in this edit would be the sound transitions (i.e. instead of abruptly cutting off the sound in between text presentations, have the sound fade out and in). Other than that, great job!

I've always felt that what the Star Wars films really need---especially the prequels and sequels---is less dialog. These are visual spectacle/action-adventure movies. They'd be much more dramatically compelling if the characters weren't constantly quipping.

I always loved action scenes without music. It makes the scene naturally evoke emotion instead of having to rely on the music to tell you how to feel about it. Plus you can hear so much more - the sounds, the machines, the grunts, it's music on its own

Without the music, 1. this trailer felt much slower in pace. 2. It was much easier to understand what was going on. I think that's because when I see a Star Wars clip as a musician, I tend to notice what is happening with the music in the background. Like "Oh, that's a cool fanfare the trumpets have there." In John William's music, his themes are often tied to an idea, person, place, or object - in Star Wars there are themes for the relationsip between Han and Leia, for Darth Vader, and for Tatooine. Even Luke's lightsaber has a theme when Rey discovers it in Episode VII. In the original version of this trailer while the viewer is listening to one clip of music, we're seeing about twenty different bits of information packed into two minutes.

For those of you asking how the sound effects/music were removed/added, there are programs where when you put audio in the different sound effects get spliced apart into different layers so you can remove the music
