"Not bad is the new good." This game is more about what it ISN'T than what it IS. 21 you freaking nailed it. I mean let that sink in guys. This game had to basically safely survive not being quite rightly lynched by the gaming community because of previous EA micro-transaction riddled disasters. Jesus, this is how far the gaming industry has sunk. Just copy and paste mechanics from other games, slap Star Wars on it and try not to rip off the consumers. Um...yay? Fuck man, I've been playing games since the early 80s. As in games like the legendary Infocom Zork series, which had NO graphics and was nothing but TEXT on the screen and a little paper map you got in the box! Even those simple games had more effort and spirit put into them than today's service crap does.

@@darkempro Awesome man! Oh heck yeah, that was a great time for gaming! I will never forget it. Back in 1984 I had the original Macintosh PC and I got all three Zorks for it, and also Enchanter, Wishbringer, and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I played Zork for days and days on end, the story was so good and map and the puzzles were so immersive. Zork for me is still one of the best adventure game series of all time. I have a vintage Zork I in the original box with the map, it's the Commodore 64 version on the 5 1/4" floppy. I just display it for nostalgia's sake. Great stuff!

Unexpected finding you here coach. I recently bought this against my better judgement and the word mundane doesn't begin to illustrate the mediocrity that this game. Aside from everything else others have said about it, the characters somehow collectively have less personality than that cardboard cut out of Michael Jordan from the first Home Alone and thus if the tediuos maps and janky traversal mechanics fail to put you in a boredom induced coma then the forgettable story and wooden delivery certainly will. I thoroughly regret spending my money on this exercise in futility and i uninstalled it before i even finished it, which is something i haven't done since the inception of man. Utterly disappointed and Disney shutting down Lucasarts will haunt me forever after experiencing this uninspired garbage. Star Wars 1313 was going to be the one.

The lack of auto climbing is not a case of checking whether you actually want to grab the ledge, but providing the haptic sensation of grabbing the ledge yourself. If we apply the same logic that anytime you'd logically make this input at this time, the game should do it for you to everything else, then the game would play itself

Maybe. Certainly you could make that case on console. But on PC my keyboard remains resolutely un-vibrating when I hit V. I would note that Im NOT some PC master race asshole. Certain games Ive hammered on xbone and PS4. But when I buy a game on pc, they should invest some time optimising it for PC ... or sell it for half price imho. Thanks for the input Liam.

21Kiloton I practice anal singing and have done for many years. I am able to create an array of beautiful sounds simply by discharging air from my anus , by varying the speed and volume I use my buttocks at various tension, cheek position and the gap between cheeks to produce hair raising music. I am unsure where this technique derives from but it is truly fascinating and satisfying to perform. My advice to anyone wishing to try this is don't attempt it in the shower. Depending on the shower spray position and buttock gap the gust will just sound like an angry duck. If you find you are soiling yourself then relax and take your time, you will master it.

If you still want to be an *actual* Jedi sometime, pick up "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" for a couple bucks on Steam. Aside from the usual Quake III Engine ice-skate movement issues, it is probably the best Star Wars action game ever made. (Pro tip: Zabrak female PC has the best VA, and you can dress her in very little clothing if you wish.) Note: Flight sims are their own genre, and do not count as action games. The title of absolute best Star Wars game ever made is tied between TIE Fighter (the Collector's CD edition, specifically) and KotOR 2 (with the Restored Content Mod), which are a flight sim and an RPG, respectively. Also, sorry to disappoint you, 21K, but you can't trigger me with anything relating to Star Wars that was released after about, oh, 1997-98? I dunno, there wasn't really a specific moment when I noticed it, but in retrospect Star Wars died for me around that time. I still enjoy the old stuff--aka *real* Star Wars--and I wouldn't want to put down anyone who likes the trashy crap of the last 20 years. I'm sure it's very enjoyable... but it's not Star Wars. Not really.

I just noticed KotOR II in my steam library. If I get time I will check that out. Its immediately obvious (to me at least) that a lot of the older Star Wars games are so well received they would probably be wiser just to reboot them with updated graphics and sound. I guess they dont because of licensing issues. I agree with your take on Star Wars btw. I personally loved the first three original movies. Ok the Ewoks were a bit of a mistake imho, but I could forgive them that. Looking back they were really quite hard hitting. A mainstream sci-fi movie series where someones family gets murdered, one hero gets caught and imprisoned, and another hero gets his hand chopped off. This was fairly dark stuff at the time. I thought Rogue One was "acceptable" but apart from that, every sequel Ive exposed myself to has been fluff. I guess at some point people forgot about the "moral of the story" and started obsessing about Wookie Masks and toy light sabres.

@@21Kiloton The "Restored Content Mod" is absolutely mandatory for KotOR II. Fortunately, nowadays you just subscribe on the Steam Workshop and it just installs and works. You see, due to fucky publisher deadlines, Obsidian had to kick KotOR II out the door before all the content in the game was actually connected up and working. (Simply shocking! Thank God that doesn't happen anymore, right?) However, they didn't bother purging the unused content out of the game files, so over many years the community has datamined everything and reconstructed the lost content--all of it with voice acting etc. The ending now makes something approaching sense, for example. I could write a book about the game, but I won't. Go play it, and have fun being a *real* fucking Jedi. Or Sith. And having a hard think about whether those weird words actually mean jack shit. (Seriously, talk to your crew. At length.)

How did all those Stormtroopers get up on those ledges? That would really suck to have to mantle up and around to your patrol area every morning and then make your way down at the end of your shift. It's the Empire(or whatever it is this week), can't they afford a ladder or a piece of metal makeshift bridge if that patrol area is that strategically important.

Played this on game pass. I got the 1000 gamer score for it and uninstalled it immediately after. I give it 2.5 stars out of 5.

Just finished the game and I have to say that it’s ironic as fucking hell that I spent the most $ I’ve ever spent on a game for this steaming pile of shit. It’s not the worst game I’ve ever played for its time. Obviously, there have been countless “wtf were they thinking???” releases over the decades but for a monster franchise at the heart of nerd culture like Star Wars, this stands out as appallingly underdeveloped in terms of content, and had me speak the next sentence out loud dozens of times regarding the collectibles.... “WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS ______?!!!” Basically, this game is extremely thin on actual content in terms of upgrades and items.. and 99% of the items DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.” That’s right. The game is basically 99% pointless, and the story, nor any of its characters, are compelling. None of it. Let me break it down for you... - a hundred ship, droid, and lightsaber component collectibles that do literally nothing to enhance the game play in any way. It’s just for show, like literally just superficial, which you can only really appreciate up close on the workbench. AND WHO GIVES A SERIOUSLY FLYING FUCK ABOUT CHANGING THE SHIP OR DROID 20 DIFFERENT COLOURS??!!! -it’s an encyclopedia on critters and lore from 5 planets, 4 of which are new to 99.9% of players (if you’ve never read EU books), so nobody gives a shit.... and it’s all just written blurbs with a lame illustration. No video. - the one cool canon-planet you actually go to is like Uncharted for Ps3-quality imagining and illustration. -Buggy asf. Like the first time I fought the last boss, my health meter and foe health meters had just disappeared off the screen for like an hour of game play leading up to it. I actually thought it was part of the game and that I was immortal until I accomplished a main story journey or something. But then I got killed by the boss and respawned and my health bar was suddenly there again. I’m actually astounded, like in shock, by how lame this game is. I’m just glad it’s over, tho.

Heh, Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast are the only Star Wars lightsaber action games you need, rest are mediocre at best. And for shooter go no further than old Battlefronts and Republic Commando. As for this game, It looks so underwhelming I wouldn't even want to pirate it. Even Force Unleashed is miles ahead of this.

It's a good game if you're looking for a Dark Souls clone. For those of us who wanted a good action game that isn't influenced by Dark Souls, we're shit out of luck and will have to look elsewhere, like the KOTOR games, the Jedi Knight games, the Force Unleashed games, and EPIII the video game.

I think the main problem is that the game is too "ok". It is not bad but not that interesting either. And definitely better to play if you are younger (I'm 54 and been through som games.)
