Ghost of Tsushima is an old fashioned game in every sense. Its a traditional single player game for a straight price, and derivative of more games than I can list. But despite its unoriginal nature, its still a solid, highly enjoyable game.

Colour me impressed. That is pretty damn close. Although I will admit that I used Google Translate, so any meaning that was lost in translation was probably at my end. WTH are all the people so hung up because this game is not historically accurate?! I understand if people are hung up on it on games like Kingdom come deliverance, BECAUSE IT`S ADVERTISED AS SUCH. But this game never claimed that to begin with. This game is a homage to the old Akira Korusawa movies like Seven Samurai and Yojimbo. The developters themself said this game is not historically accurate, but made to have FUN.

I agree with you Ghost was not original but it was fun. Romanticized bs but I don’t need a realistic look at feudal society because that is what history books are for. The game was entertaining, the combat was what it should be fun, and the story served it’s purpose, while it could have been better it was good. Especially for the medium. It’s not perfect but it’s so much fun.

Oh and the word he was searching for for Horse's middle speed might be considered to be cantor - but it's kinda complicated Horses are a bit like vehicle in that way by training or breed to they don't all function in quite the same way. Though in this case the horse seems to not have a walk mechanic then trot *some might say jog is faster than trot and slower than cantor* , then i's cantor and then gallop. Notsure if Horse come with the Equine version of "Ludicrous speed" though... (Perhaps if an escaped lion is chasing them)

I know this is an older video but I actually like reading about the Mongolian artifacts you find in the game, sucker punch didn’t just portray the Mongols as pure dogs 100% throughout the world. (Only about 98% of the time)

Most samurai were not hired thugs....lol. They were mostly spoiled and landless relatives of more powerful or wealthy nobles. Now, once your boss fell off or you fell out of favor, AND, you didn't inherit a land manor or your immediate family didn't have status, then one just became a roaming thug for hire. This was born the shinobi. Now those were mostly hired thugs.

Nice video. But I have to smart ass a bit. Technically it's not ancient Japan since ancient usually refers to the time before christ. The mongol invasion happened in the 1280s (aacording to wikipedia, I honestly did not know that the mongols invaded Japan before I goodled that game). So it's more like middle ages Japan, at least how we count the time in europe.

Warhorse could make a game about home ownership awsome. It would have the most immersive gutter cleaning, lawn mowing, trim painting and mortgage paying mechanics ever. The main character would be accurately portrayed yet relatable and likeable at the same time. You'd fall off the roof a lot in the beginning but if you stuck to it you'd own that home.

Love your opinions! They’re always aligned with mine & many other peeps! I left this “okay” game because it became un okay when I realised there was a ammo losing bug in it. I went back to The Division 2 for exactly 3 minutes before I remembered it was shit! (Have you heard the latest? The devs have given us some cosmetic BS that they say we asked for, but we didn’t!) I then discovered - 3 years too late - Horizon Zero Dawn, which is awesome!

History hasn't forgotten the truth about the Samurai, the general public has forgotten about history. And it's a damn shame. On that same track, if you had a historically accurate Ninja(shinobi) video game, it would consist of listening in on conversation and sending the occasional report to your lord. Accuracy was never this game's intention, seeing how RIDICULOUSLY inaccurate it is when it comes to, well, everything.. The weapons of the period, the role of the samurai in the culture of the time, the gear that the samurai wear. It's like they're time traveling swordsmen, but can only go about 200 or so years in the future. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, though. I don't get my education from my games or movies, so their inaccuracies are irrelevant.. But hilarious. I take it as an interactive Takashi Miike film.. Many like to attribute Kurosawa as the main Insp, but it's clearly Miike. Despite making many romantic Samurai epics, Kurosawa wasn't blind to the dark history of the Samurai, nor was he shy to address it. One of my favorite scenes in Seven Samurai is when Kikuchiyo acknowledges the underhanded and traitorous nature of the farmers, but is quick to remind the six samurai of who made them that way when they become offended and threaten to leave.. So ruthless and cunning. After decades of abuse and exploitation under the Samurai, the farmers had learned how to get by. Kurosawa's samurai are flawed and proud: Each one of the Seven has an ulterior motive when it comes to helping the farmers. Miike's films, however, tend to buy wholesale into the whole Romantic Noble Samurai who will sacrifice his standing in society and possibly die in order to do the right thing. Hey, at least I got to live my Samurai Champloo fantasies.

I think Most games blow and even I thought this game was one of the best games I ever played. The combat was incredible. The landscape was incredible. The story was fun and the collectibles were the appropriate level of challenging. Game was like a 9.5/10. The fuckin horse riding is better than red dead which is all about horse riding.

Another great vid. I kinda enjoyed Assassin's Creed: Japan because i enjoy video games in general lol. It looked nice, it played well and switching styles on the fly made it fun in a kinda new way. But I agree with you: So the F#ck What?!?! I almost said "piss on this Kiloton guy" after your deep spite for Far Cry 5... probably my favorite PS4 game. But I agree with you on most other things, and there is no accounting for taste lol. The mindless plot didnt matter to me, I was hooked as soon as bear caught fire and was ripping enemies apart and got too close to a barrel and blew the whole place sky high, catching the entire field on fire. Then the Turkeys saw their window and attacked..... That kind of mayhem is hard to beat. And so many bad games have come out since FC5 that i can only look back in fondness at a time before crit boxes, gear scores and glowing numbers flying off tiered enemies as they take DPS and having the right level of socks can make or break your build. 2018 was the last year for games before RPG Slot Machines became the new standard.

Loved this game, yes its very repetitive but what game this type isnt? i never felt like was playing far cry but i did felt like Assassins Creed or maybe it was my playstyle or trying to do all stealth mode. the charms only changed when i got one upgraded and when i got maxed itens i took off the one that double some itens. The Armours i used 70% of the time the traveler one, when starting a standoff would change to the one that increased number of kills, and before the heavy combat the samurai armor, didnt touch any other one. Nice review, Give you a A at history. When co-op comes out we need to team up.
