It's my belief that Darth Nihilus was MUCH more powerful than Darth Sion. But Sion was pretty much unkillable. So Sion tried killing Nihilus here, but was hopelessly outmatched. In turn, Nihilus were only able to knock Sion down, he couldn't outright kill him.

Also worth noting is how Sion was technically a lot more efficient in his methods against the Jedi. Sion actively waged a war against the Jedi and was somewhat successful at it. Nihilus on the other hand had other things on his mind... Specifically food... Or life-force. Nihilus, unlike most Sith, didn't care for power or having an army or empire to control, he just followed the will of his vacuum in the force. His will was subservient to his abilities. He was a slave to his own hunger, a hunger that kept growing and kept making Nihilus more powerful. Still, even if his actual goals wasn't technically to exterminate the Jedi, the Jedi were still on his menu, hence why he ended up draining entire planets for life just to satiate that never ending hunger that controlled his actions.

@@TheTrytix I think Kreia pretty much said he cares little if at all for the Sith's agenda. He only cares to feed on the force and he only has Sith around as a means to an end. When the Jedi are all gone he likely would have turned to feed on the Sith just as easily.

they are equals and have both mastered their favorite powers namely force rage and force drain to the point where they are both invincible when faced against conventional threats and warfare. the original cutscene is much more accurate where Sion immediately got back up without a scratch and started marching to attack him but both decide to walk away as a fight between them would not end. this new cutscene was coded my someone who obviously prefers Nihilus to Sion and has allowed that bias to leak into their storytelling.

Looks way better then the original version. But one thing bothers me personally. When Sion tells Nihilus that Traya still lives, in the original cut Nihilus is angered by that fact and growls like it. This should've been kept as it was more in tone with what was said. Also when Sion says i have no need for you, Nihilus speaks to him before Sion replies that he never needed him. In this version, Nihilus is angry and growls when Sion said he doesn't need him, before Sion replying to the growling that he never needed him. The original had those two exchanges better then this new version imo.

You can only see this scene after the Exile "dies" on Dantooine in the rebuilt jedi enclave

@@ertho361 you can't see it there either - the exile ties everytime she enters the enclave - it is impossible to restore this scene since it is part of the completely cut bounty hunter guild arc on Nar Shaddaa. i have the most up to date version of both the TSLRCM 1.8.6 as well as M4-78 and this scene has never appeared in either

Because unlike all the Sith that came before and after him, Darth Sion cannot die. At least not unless he wants to. He draws on his hatred, anger, and pain (especially pain) so deeply that he, in a sense, achieved immortality. Sion, quite literally, refuses to die and has dedicated his existence to spreading his pain and suffering on all Jedi, and all beings, everywhere. This means that you can strike him down as many times as you want, but he will always get back up. This scene is a good example of that. Nihilus did actually kill Sion, but because the Lord of Pain refuses to truly die, he rose again. This is why the Jedi Exile had to ultimately convince Sion to let go of his will to live, because there was no way she could defeat him otherwise. Hope that answered your question.

@@wicher9992 George Lucas still claimed Darth Sidious was, and going by his expanded universe feats, he probably was. Destroying whole fleets with your mind is no joke. He was also a Force Walker and perfected immortality through soul transmission without even needing to drain whole planets, which he could probably do, but that would be wasteful and draw attention to himself.
