Thumb this up people~ Make sure to use SUPER GLUE and not Plastic Glue/Poly cement. The miniatures aren't made of the same GW's Polystyrene plastic, so they don't glue that solidly when using plastic glue. Beyond that, 200% approval of this painting guide.

Superb! I remember when painting IA Vader, I dreamed of that kind of helmet reflection effects, but couldn't quite pull it off. Great to see it actually done. Turns out I just wasn't bold enough. I thought the upper chest armor with the alternating panels were gloss black and matte black? I honestly thought you were going way,way too light with the highlights, but after it was all said and done, it looks really good. I've only in the last two years started using this method to paint figures and really haven't done all that many (well 6 to be honest) and find myself having trouble just following and trusting the process. I guess I've done ok because I won a first place in a painting competition and the ones I've sold the customers were very pleased and said that they are so much better looking in person, and the pictures of them are pretty good if I say so myself. 🤓😉😎 Great job and thanks for sharing your tips and techniques.

I'm curious why you did not prime the inside of his cloak before gluing? I realize you probably don't want to get into areas where it could affect the fitting, but it seems like some brush on primer back there might get better coverage?
@Sorastro6 жыл бұрын
Hi Craig! I didn't find I had any problem with primer coverage on my Vaders (this one and the one I did a practice run on) whilst using an airbrush, but if you think you're going to struggle to get coverage - perhaps if you're using a spray can - then I think priming the cloak separately before gluing is certainly and option worth considering :)
