Games like this are really making me miss those linear third person cover shooters we used to get. I don't care if many seem to despise that genre, but, at least, those were plainly fun to play even at their worst. Heck! Army of Two - The Devil's Cartel is still a blast to replay. Although my PS3 controllers are kinda busted right now. 😢 Recently played through Dark Sector, and it was oddly refreshing. Yehp, even with the piss-brown-grey color palette and bland story. In case it wasn't obvious yet, I'm a bit of an apologist for that era of gaming. And I'd rather have more of those that bloated open worlds like these.

I would have loved an assassin's Creed effort in this Star wars game. That's why I was excited that Ubisoft was doing it because I was thinking that they would put the same amount of effort and detail into a Star wars game that we've never seen before. I know that everyone and their dog knows this, but Ubisuck is the only publisher (that I can think of atm) that really only knows how to make ONE kind of game these days, which are ALWAYS open world for some godforsaken reason (it’s just disappointing at this point) with tons of icons on the map as if someone had put too many damn sprinkles on a cake and topped with a very bad enemy AI and the usual ubisoft “flair” (for a lack of a better term) cherry on top

@@cjume8819 that’s exactly why I just couldn’t finish my playthrough of AC Odessey halfway through the game (minus the part where it’s story is bad cause it’s actually decent) because of the repetitiveness of most the side quests, getting upgrade materials and skills. I even went out of my way to make two builds, one for stealth (with the cool looking black absterigo armor) and the other for heavy combat (and a third for whatever, but I don’t remember what I used it for), despite that effort to give my experience of the game to have variation and fun, I still felt like I was really bored…somehow. idk why, I just did. (stealth I felt like was literally pointless when some guy I’m trying to avoid the line sight from could just somehow see me from a mile away or hear me enter a room when I was being as sneaky possible. I also hated that the shield mechanics from Origins were gone, wtf). Same with Far Cry 5, it’s story is pretty good-ish (I did finish it, unlike ACO, but again stealth is total BS cause of Ubi’s uber shitty enemy AI that hasn’t probably changed since Far Cry 3) GTA IV, V, and RDR2 were some of best open world games I’ve ever played through out my middle and high school years, so yeah Rockstar is too good when it comes to this genre Anyway, rant over…lol

TBH I stopped expecting anything from SW gaming when Disney announced the exclusive SW gamemaking deal with EA. And then lost track of the predictable results. So the only two questions I have watching this are: 1. why did Disney fall out with EA 2. why did they think switching EA to Ubisoft would change anything. I'll just assume the answer to both questions is "incompetence" and move on.

"Where is she?!" just made me wanna watch the Christian Bale batman films again. I'll play this in a few months maybe. Shame bc i had high hopes and paid for the early access. I keep thinking they'll get their shit together and give us a good game on launch but I've already had to restart bc they emailed me and said there were save breaking bugs and anyone playing pre patch save files had to restart to be safe. They gave some free ubisoft points and a trinket in-game for the inconvenience but it still doesn't help when i was so excited for this game but every 5 seconds i see issues with it on almost every level. I enjoyed the in-game arcade games more.

Ubisoft went from a studio that made excellent masterclass games, Rayman 3, Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed 2, Ghost Recoon to bad games, average or sometimes good like Prince of Persias the lost crown. Either the story corrects them "whereas before their story in the game was very good" and the gameplay is average, or the gameplay is good "not excellent" but the story is bad or both.

Preorders for the game were reportedly very strong so I think the game will do fine in a commercial sense. As for gameplay it's a bit dicey, but I like it. Definitely a leaning towards a "wait for a sale".
