Yeah i think your ingame reputation has consequences like if you bribe an imperial they maybe more inclined to look the other way or a syndicate maybe offers you better jobs

From the gameplay they showed last year, she refuses to give the Imperial Officer their cut of what she stole from the Pikes, which caused the Imperial to place a wanted marker on her. So, yeah, the reputation system will work both ways, maybe even more than 1 or 2 faction changes. In the gameplay example, she lost/got negative standing from the Imperials and the Pike Syndicate (not giving the Imperial their cut, and being seen/spotted during the Pike theft mission.)
