@@SciFi_Soup That is more or less what is said in KOTOR when Revan contacts one of the Tuskan bands. Tattooine was destroyed by and because of technology; so the Tuskan's abhor technology for what it did to their once-beautiful planet. Likewise they hate those who use technology which was the cause of many conflicts with the Tuskan's. The Tuskan rifle was an anachronism; one of the very few items of technology they would use. The Tuskan Lorekeeper that Revan contacted suggested that originally Tattooine had two species/cultures. One was an agrarian nature-loving people who survived the Rakata's destructive attack and became the Tuskan's and the Jawa. The other was a science and technology obsessed people who drew the attention of the Rakata. The scientists eventually created the disease that nearly wiped the Rakata out and the Rakata retaliation wiped them out and left Tattooine a ruin. The Lorekeeper suggests that the scientists resembled humans, so they might have been a completely separate species.

I was at my first Star Wars Weekend parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios (then called MGM studios; that's how old we're talking about) when I saw them coming down the road (the parade used to go to a stage at the Star Tours ride made to look like the Imperial bunker). I started barking at one only to have him hear me and turn around and come straight at me. I was 8 or 9 at the time so imagine a 6'+ Tusken Raider standing over a 4' kid, blotting out the sun, and terrifying my younger siblings at how close he was! He then barked at me once and then moved on. I was so shocked that I didn't even say anything! My parents did have a camera but I guess they were so surprised by the reaction that they didn't take a close-up picture of it and instead only took it when the Tusken had turned toward me. My second and more recent memory of meeting a Tusken was a lot less terrifying and a lot more fun. My family took one last trip to Disney World during Star Wars Weekends and my family split up some time in the afternoon. Minor characters would walk with the crowds while featured characters would have designated locations for people to take pictures. So while I was in the shade of a bunch of trees with tables and chairs I was looking down at my phone when I started to feel something tap my foot. I was so engrossed that it went on for a bit until I looked out from the corner of my eye to see a gaffi stick poking at my shoe laces. A curious Tusken had walked over to me! I smiled and began taking photos with my phone as much as I could and even did a few selfies with him! He was quiet throughout the whole thing and acted curious with my phone before moving on. Best interaction I ever had with a Star Wars character including Boba Fett.

I thought that the Ricotta were conquered by the Mozzarella Tribe, and that both were integrated into the Parmesan Empire. Until the coming of the dreaded Pizza the Hutt. I’m sorry- I just really couldn’t help myself. I’ve actually always been fascinated by the Tusken Raiders. When I was a little kid (probably at around age 5, so, 1980 or so), my much older brother BS’ed me and told me that the 4 little cylinders on top of the Tuskens’ heads were like Dixie cups, to collect rainwater for drinking since they lived in the desert. And of course, because I was a little guy, and I idolized my brother, I believed every word he said. And so got laughed at like crazy when I related this “fact” to the other kids at school. So- that’s like my retroactive punishment for the horrendous joke that I attempted at the beginning of my comment. What a sad turn of events, when all I wanted to do was to make you laugh... I’m gonna go cry in my little corner of the universe- maybe I’ll collect my tears in these little Dixie cups I’ve got. You see, I keep them on top of my head, because I...

I actually have a theory about the Tusken's vocal cords, not sure if would be accurate to lore or not, but I'd like to think that their vocal cords were burned or scorched by breathing in the ashes of their former world eons ago as they evolved and changed into the Tuskens today, and only learned to filter out these harmful particles through their rebreathers on their veils/masks.

Very well made! Well done! I do love these long form essays on the history, culture, society, and biology of species rather than a brief summary that one can find on Wookieepedia. It shows that you put in more effort in your research and writing and made the video your own instead of a copy-and-paste job. The Tusken Raiders along with the Twi'leks, Mandalorians, Hutts, and Kel Dor are some of the most fascinating peoples in the galaxy just from how much background information was made about them. 16:07 I think that this photo would've been a good addition when talking about the construction of gaffi sticks and their differences between users. I would like to add another worthy Tusken in the list: Plug-Eye also known as A'Yark from the novel, _Kenobi_ .
